RACE PACER - helping others hit their PB’s whilst having fun
POSTS STORIES REELS
This is the moment @beas.goals joins the race dressed in her civvies and carrying her handbag to give me some race tips to help me get my pb ❤️ #runningtips #halfmarathon #loverunning #prouddadmoment❤️ #llhm by @wayne_the_pacer
@futuresportsevents Cirencester Half 1:50 pacer. I came into this race coming out of an injury to my calf and I had a lot of self doubt because I was worried about not completing and letting my pack down. In my mind I still feeling a niggle in my calf but it was only in my mind. However I did wear my compression socks from @rymorasports just in case. ⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️ But I had nothing to worry about, the calf was spot on and I want to thank Kostas from @soma_anaplasis for the intensive treatment I had in Greece on it and @runna for their rehab program. 🙏 @futuresportsevents Official timings say it all ❤️ What a super medal and a fantastic race, especially because it’s run on closed roads, with an amazing atmosphere and support from the crowds along the way. Don’t go into this race thinking it’s flat, it is certainly far from that but don’t let that stop you entering it, just include some hill training in your runs 🏃‍♂️ by @wayne_the_pacer
It was great to be back out pacing again and this time as stand in captain for @phil_running_on_insulin who was busy pacing the Venice’s marathon. We had a super team with us at the @calneleisure 10k clock change. A special thank you goes out to the last minute stand in’s Thomas 45 min and Michelle 65 min. You all did so well 🏆 On a side note, our new pacers bibs were sponsored by @damageundone #thebest #calneclockchange10k #pacers #running #runners by @wayne_the_pacer
Kostas from @soma_anaplasis helping to sort out my calf injury. Flexing my calf muscle using a band for a light resistance, which icing the muscle Kostas also carried out a localised dry acupuncture, this was painful but he fully explained why and how it would help in the recovery. This was then followed by some biowave treatment, which felt good. (Forgot to photograph these bits) Side view of the flexing I can’t remember the name of this machine but it heats up the muscle whilst lightly moving over the area Combined cupping and tens treatment. by @wayne_the_pacer
My calf was twinging a bit after my last run with @stathis.goudis so I borrowed a massage gun and roller from his brother Pedros at @akrolithi_boutique_hotel to try and loosen it up and I also rested it for several days. Today’s run was relatively flat and at an easy pace so I thought I’d see how I got on, unfortunately half way through it started to tighten up again resulting in me having to stop several times to massage it, which helped until the home section of the run along the beach. It was just to much and I hobbled back 🤦🏻 Positive outcome to this is I managed to get a booking with a sports therapist to give me deep tissue massage tomorrow and I am sure it’ll do the trick but I’ve no doubt it’ll hurt like hell! Another positive was I did get to see the ancient roman theatre in gythio and get a hair cut in the town Trail pack and shoes are from @salomonrunning and it’s filmed using my @dji nano 2 #running #rungreece #exploring #salomonrunning #djinano by @wayne_the_pacer
Mosaics of a Roman residence is a site not to be missed. Star of Aria” (Astro tis Arias) mosaic at Cape Tainaron in Mani, is generally dated to the 1st century AD and is described as the floor of a Roman residence/villa. That makes it roughly 1,900–2,000 years old today. It’s remarkable because much of the mosaic is still exposed in its original setting, not inside a museum. The surviving design includes the distinctive central star surrounded by sweeping, curled geometric forms. It also sits in an extraordinary historical landscape: nearby are the remains of the Sanctuary of Poseidon at Tainaron, a place the ancient Greeks associated with an entrance to Hades @akrolithi_boutique_hotel by @wayne_the_pacer
I love this run to the Cape Tainaron Lighthouse, it is located in the mani and it’s the most southern part of Greece. @manitraveler_gr Mosaics of a Roman residence. The “Star of Mani”. This is a true jewel and one not to be missed More details: Star of Aria” (Astro tis Arias) mosaic at Cape Tainaron in Mani, is generally dated to the 1st century AD and is described as the floor of a Roman residence/villa. I also don’t know how @hercuules managed it in the dark to end his record breaking run from the top of Greece to the bottom. 🏆 Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this rugged area and the vivid colours At the lighthouse This is one of the most stunning bays and the start of the trail to the lighthouse by @wayne_the_pacer
This morning stathis from @akrolithi_boutique_hotel invited me to join him on a 10k run. It was a new loop for me with quite a climb but rewarded by excellent company and a wonderful view of the Mani, Greece #greekhospitality #running #traileunning #manigreece #positiveenergyonly by @wayne_the_pacer
Morning Run starting from the beautiful @akrolithi_boutique_hotel where we have based ourselves to explore the Mani in Greece. View of the lovely stone buildings The first 1.5 miles is downhill Running down to Oitylo and the sun hasn’t even risen above the mountains yet View down to Oitylo bay So calm and peaceful, not a sole in site Now to run back up the hill to Akrolithi by @wayne_the_pacer
