C E L E B R A T I N G 2 0 Y E A R S🎉 In 2006, I officially started what became Manchester Sing Out Choir, an arm from my ‘Sing Out Project’. I began with 12 people and was asked to fix singers as ‘Manchester Gospel Choir’ would be led by my dear friend and background singer @wayne.hernandez.official for the band Gorillaz who pre-launched the opening for #manchesterinternationalfestival (now @factory_international ) in November 2005. After that event I continued to build. Slowly. Carefully. With commitment and belief. That choir went on for around 16 years, growing in strength, sound, and purpose.Then in 2016, ten years after officially starting, the choir rebranded to @manchesterinspirationalvoices . That year was a milestone.We launched with a concert at the Royal Northern College of Music (@rncmlive ), and we also entered BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year (@songsofpraiseofficial ) and won.That moment wasn’t just a trophy. It was recognition of years of quiet work, resilience, and faith.After that, the journey went global. We travelled to New York, Poland, France, Germany, Spain sharing gospel music, meeting new people, and inspiring others through the way I teach and the way we sing together. Back home in Manchester, another huge milestone followed … performing at The Bridgewater Hall (@bridgewaterhall ), one of the city’s most prestigious venues. Not once. Not twice. But THREE times. This was accomplished by committed people from our choir community, as with everything we do.And a very special mention must go to Denise Rodgers, who has been instrumental in managing the running of the choir. Her consistency, care, and commitment have been absolutely incredible.20 Years later, Manchester Inspirational Voices is still growing from strength to strength to strength with a magnificent team and members. Dear all,I’ve been so excited to share this footage with you.In 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to once again organise a concert tour, bringing the full-size RNCM Session Orchestra to Iceland for a series of concerts.For this edition, our special guest was the one and only Wayne Ellington, who gave a beautiful performance of Man in the Mirror—the same song he performed so memorably on The Voice UK in 2018, this time accompanied by a full-size orchestra.I’m incredibly proud of this project and deeply grateful to all my friends, colleagues, and everyone who helped make it possible. On my first radio appearance, Wayne, asked me why do artists chase validation before purpose? The answer is clear - in a social media world where everyone is competing to be the best, we often forget the main thing - our music. We tie our success and our worth to outcomes, and not the music that we are producing. For me, things start to become clear through my faith in God, and that’s when I realise, I don’t need to chase anything. I’m already whole through my faith. And so, what defines my success is how strong my faith in God is. In music, that success translates to the meaningful work I create, that actually means something, and using that in a positive way. That’s it.Competition has been the downfall of many. Success in music should be shared, not divided. Your success is my success. And mine is yours. Music connects people. We are in this together.
