BABY’S FIRST PUBLICATION!! WE’RE SO UP!!!

About a month or two ago, I had the pleasure of speaking with @mariaecorpuz over at @omahamagazine about my journey doing theatre in Omaha. It is not lost on me just how fortunate I’ve been to do the shows I’ve done over the last few years, so this feels SOOOOO MAJORRRR

I was terrified to make the decision to leave school back in 2023, but part of me knew there was something else I needed to focus my energy on. Turns out that being in RENT, Pipeline, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wild Party, and both Angels In Americas have taught me much more than I could’ve imagined I’d learn at my age. Though all very different, each show has opened my eyes to varying theatrical aesthetics, and has challenged me to become better and better with each role.

I’m so beyond grateful to my friends and family for always supporting me and cheering me on when doing this work seems like more give than take. I’ve made so many new friends in working around town and I’m excited to further those relationships and make more as the years go by. And I’d like to thank all of Omaha’s arts enjoyers, I couldn’t have gotten to this point without you all. It’s moments like these that remind me I’m on the right path. No matter where I end up, Omaha will always hold a special place in my heart and I’m proud to call this city my home❤️❤️❤️ Check out the full article in my bio;)

Just wanted to further express my gratitude to the board at Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards and to my community for seeing this award in me🥹

2024 was a year of high highs and low lows, but the few months I spent working on this show were full of nothing but fun and love and support. I am beyond grateful to be even a small part of Omaha’s creative history, this city continues to amaze me with its abundance of talent. To get to be recognized amongst all these cool ass people is crazy to me!! It was so surreal to get to put my spin on such a beloved character, getting on stage as Wonka literally felt like playtime lol

Thank you to everyone who came to see the show, thank you to all the educators who instilled the necessary skills in me to help me grow, thank you to my ancestors for putting me in the right places with the right people, and thank you Roald Dahl for writing this demented ass story💕💕 by @waynehudsonii

some thought this day would never come but fret not🙂‍↕️

Angels In America: Millennium Approaches was nothing short of a miracle to be apart of. This show became a much needed breath of fresh air during a rather tumultuous time for me. These people that I love and who loved me like family became the angels on my shoulders, nurturing and uplifting me more than I can ever really put into words. I remember being really hesitant about stepping into this process; I didn’t really know many people in the cast and I was nervous about doing justice to the very necessary and relevant stories of the lives of those impacted by HIV. But those fears were quickly replaced by curiosity, laughter, and a passion to tell this story and tell it right. @allisonpricedirector was such an inspiring director, genuinely one of the coolest people I’ve ever gotten to work with, along with @estella.rae and @grace.l.v who are treasures to me personally and to the Omaha theater scene in general. I’m going to stop before I write a full on dissertation about this show, but looking back I will say that I believe everything happens for a reason. Being in this show felt like a miracle, and in many ways was, but was always part of some great cosmic plan. The friends and memories I made are ones that continue to heal me, and I will never take this show or anyone involved for granted🪽 ALSO SLIDE 14 IS THE ORIGINAL ANGEL COSTUME FROM THE OG BROADWAY PRODUCTION WHOS GAGGED

also side note for Belize: It was a honor to step into your shoes. Researching for this part led to conversations with loved ones that opened my eyes to the true power queer people of color are born with. It was truly an emotional yet an empowering experience. I can’t wait to finish telling your story (hopefully lol)😉

today for us💕

i simply can’t express how important and special this production is to me in an instagram post but i’ll try and keep it brief. the people that i’ve gotten to work with since december of last year to now have been some of the absolute most kind hearted, talented, hilarious and caring people i’ve ever met. i can’t say i’ve ever felt more supported and loved in a theater space, and it was seriously divine intervention that this show came along how and when it did. to my cast, grateful does not begin to describe how i feel after having met you. this was the most all star cast i could imagine and i still can’t fathom that i got to play around with you guys for four months crafting this beautiful show. i leaned on you more than you know, thank you for always keeping me up. you all deserve the fucking world❤️❤️❤️ thank you to every crew member for your dedication to this beast of a show, especially @lilianaaaahhhh and amanda for keeping me pretty and handling my sweaty wigs. thank you @ssanta86 for taking a chance on me and sharing your love of this show in such a beautiful way. thank you @aaronderellgrooves for your artistry (and patience lol) i can’t wait to work with you again! thank you @boggessjim for your wisdom and literally shaping my voice into what i didn’t think it could be. big thank you to jonathan larson for creating angel and thanks to every last queen (drag or otherwise) whom inspired her. i feel like she is my higher self actually, so to be able to step in her shoes and tell her story was a dream i didn’t even realize i had until it came true. and finally thank you to everyone who came to see the show, either for me specifically or just in general, your local theater community thanks you. your support means the world❤️ i truly am changed after this one, sorry to be all sappy but this show deserves it by @waynehudsonii
