18!!! Silas is 18 years old today and it’s genuinely hard to believe! I’ve enjoyed every moment being your dad, and hold on to every memory made.

I love you. I’m proud of you. I love the man you are, and the one you’re still becoming.

Keep loving Jesus, and growing in what it means to follow Him. Keep working hard in all you do. Keep serving others.

When most people drive past Fox Creek High School on a Sunday morning, they see a school. A parking lot. Hallways. Classrooms and open rooms waiting on Monday.

And if you’ve heard a church meets there, you might picture something temporary. Folding chairs. A borrowed room. A church that’s just getting by until it finds a “real” building.

Well… Here’s what I see.

I see a team of called and committed people who show up early every week and turn a school into a place where people meet Jesus. They build it all... and then they take it down and do it again seven days later.

I see a hallway that becomes a front porch. Classrooms where kids learn that God knows their name. A room that was empty a few hours earlier, now full of people worshiping together.

In two years, I’ve watched over 40 people take their next step in baptism here. I’ve watched neighbors become friends in small groups all over North Augusta.

A building doesn’t make a church. God’s people do.

Take a look. The first pictures are what Fox Creek looks like when we pull in. The rest are what it looks like when the church shows up.

And to Fox Creek High School... thank you for letting us call your building home on Sundays!

Today is Suzanne’s birthday! I’m beyond blessed to walk through this life with her… and I still don’t know how I pulled this off. 10 years.

Today the staff at Stevens Creek Church surprised Monica Ebersole and me by celebrating both of our 10-year anniversaries on staff. We weren’t expecting it, and it was incredibly thoughtful.

For me, the Lord has used Pastor Marty, this staff, and this church to change my life. Stevens Creek invested in me, gave me opportunities, and helped shape me into the husband, father, and pastor I am today. I’m a different man because of this place.

Now… full disclosure… this is a cumulative 10-year anniversary. I came on staff in 2012, was away for a 4-year stint, then came back in 2022. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person on the planet who needs 14 years to celebrate a 10-year milestone.

Monica… Congratulations to you as well! Grateful to share this milestone with you.

To Pastor Marty, our staff, and the Stevens Creek Church family, thank you. I don’t take a single one of these years for granted.

Healing takes more than medicine.

That’s the line my friend Jason James uses. Last year, he survived what most people don’t. A widowmaker heart attack. During his twelve weeks of recovery, he kept thinking about everybody else walking through heart surgery who may not have the community of support he did. So he started 12 Percent, a nonprofit that helps people who are temporarily out of work after a cardiac procedure. 12 Percent helps cover the basics… Rent. Groceries. Utilities. The bills don’t pause just because your heart did.

I sit on the board, and I’d love for you to be part of our very first fundraiser.

This lady right here is the kind of mother to Aiden, Silas, and London that every kid dreams of.

Happy Mother’s Day to the one who makes our world go round. Suzanne, you love Aiden, Silas, and London with a steadiness I still can’t quite figure out. You remember the small stuff. You show up for the hard stuff. You laugh at the ridiculous stuff (which, in our house, is most of it).

I’ve watched you be a mom to our kids and I know God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave them to you. They are who they are because of you.

We all love you, and we’re so grateful for you!
