Join us on Friday 31st July for our annual Summer Fair

We will have a host of community groups joining us with interactive workshops for the whole family to get involved in.

Music and entertainment throughout the afternoon - details to be announced soon.

Hot and cold drinks, and our seasonal Market and Plant Stall.

We've been busy finalising our plans for the summer and it's going to be a busy one! Here is what is coming up in July in the Gardens.

Alongside all of our regular groups which will continue throughout the holidays (older siblings welcome to our children's sessions), we have a whole array of wonderful workshops

Join @serenamirambeaubrey for an immersive workshop as she endeavors to create a radio broadcast from the gardens, recording soundscapes, interviews and dreaming up crunchy sounds. No previous experience necessary and open to all ages

The incredible @linocutboy will be hosting the first of two workshops. Using plasticine to create prints from natural impressions and textures from the gardens, this workshop is open to all ages 💛 💛correction on time of workshop, the correct time is 1 - 3pm💛💛

Our wonderful Steph will return for two Field to Fork workshops, let's teach our children where food really comes from and how we can sustainably grow and cook with it. There are two workshops for different age groups.

@wastewillsaveus will be returning for an introduction to using the sewing machine, learn tips and tricks and be creative to make a bag to take home with you. All materials will be provided. This workshop is suitable for those aged 12+

After School Picnic Club 🧺

Starting today and running every Thursday afternoon throughout June and July

Come and meet your friends or simply unwind after a busy day and enjoy our gardens and share food together. Our gardens are open for children to play and parents to switch off for a while.

We'll prepare a simple dish each week- this week we are busy preparing a roasted veg and pasta salad.

Bring a picnic and a blanket

Come join us in the gardens, everyone welcome

🍅 Field to Fork 🍅

This coming Wednesday (29th July) join Steph for two Field to Fork workshops, explore our gardens and find out where your food really comes from.

Together we will find the ingredients in the gardens, harvest and then prepare a simple meal together. This is a children friendly activity with all tools aimed at children.

We have two workshops available on Wednesday 29th, our first is for younger children aged 5 - 12 years and their adults and our second is for teens who can either attend by themselves or an adult is more than welcome to join them.

We are incredibly excited that the wonderful @charlies.tunes has chosen our gardens to celebrate his upcoming album launch.

Charlie makes songs that are fun, educational and totally poptastic. In his YouTube channel, ‘Charlie’s Tunes’, he has been teaching these songs for the past couple of years. Now he is releasing a full length album of original material (including the favourites on the YT channel.)

On Sunday 9th August join us in the gardens for a celebration picnic and performance.

We are delighted to announce that sound artist and gardener @_rosie.carr will also be joining Charlie, hosting a ‘Nature Loops’ experimental children’s musical workshop using natural and reclaimed materials.

The event is 11-2, with performances at 12 and 1.

Help us record a 🎙️Radio Broadcast at the Gardens🎙️

Join OSE associate Serena Mirambeau Brey to make our very own radio broadcast from Windmill Community Gardens. We'll be recording a soundscape of the gardens, interviewing community members, and dreaming up what we'd like our radio show to be about, any experiments are welcome.

It could be the crunchy sounds underfoot, birds singing, a dream from a few nights ago retold by someone else from memory, a story about the first time you tried a strawberry, or even the sound of someone eating one fresh from the garden!

No radio experience needed, just bring your curiosity (and your own headphones!), all ages welcome.

This workshop runs across two days, Friday 24th of July and Friday 31st of July. Come to one session or both, whatever suits you. Tell your friends to tune in!
