Welcoming @thedynamitexperience to Kurve Ball ‘26! ✨ *PERFORMING THURSDAY 10/29 ONLY!*

The DynamitExperience, a contemporary dance company founded in 2019 by Winston Dynamite Brown and partner, Latra Ann Wilson, has been commissioned by Arts KC (MO), KCFAA (MO), JPAC (Jamaica Performing Arts Center, NYC), JACK Arts (NYC), ReVenue (NYC), Earl Mosley Institute of the Arts (NY), Dance Institute of Washington (DC), FlightPath Dance Project (NYC); and presented at: the SHED (NYC), Music Theater Heritage Kansas City (MO), The Mark O’Donnell Theater (NYC), Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (NYC), Voices and Visions of Ailey (NYC), Dance Adelphi (NY), DanceWave (NYC), The Dairy Arts Center (CO), among many others. They have taught at institutions such as Alley Fordham, the Paul Taylor School, the Joffrey Ballet, Manhattan Movement Arts Center, Dalton High, Vassar College, and The Martha Graham School, among others. TDE serves as a platform for creative investigations and community engagement; the company creates work aiming to impact the local community, and those who generally do not see themselves represented on stage.

There are some people you love… and then there are the people who become the very architecture of your life.

Today, I get to celebrate Latra Wilson ;my wife, my homie on this random rock, my life partner, and my love anchor in the chaotic brilliance of our shared existence. ❤️

I revel in every opportunity to shine a light on the love, admiration, and profound respect I have for this woman. I live in awe of who Latra is and who she continues to courageously, gracefully, humbly, and authentically evolve into.

She shows me every day what it means to truly show up; for yourself, for someone else, for the work, and for the life you’re building together.

I still can’t believe I’ve had the privilege of witnessing and sharing 22 birthdays with you. Twenty-two years of becoming, rebuilding, dreaming, laughing, loving, surviving, creating, and choosing each other again and again.

The life we continue to build together inspires and motivates me to keep doing the work—to match your energy, honor your brilliance, and become, throughout time, the man you need me to be.

Happy, HAPPY Birthday, forever my Babygurl. ❤️

There are not enough words to fully honor the woman whose strength, sacrifice, grace, and unwavering love laid the foundation for my life. Raising my brother and me while building a community around us rooted in care, support, and love was nothing short of extraordinary.

The way you’ve navigated life has always inspired me to be better, love deeper, and move through this world with authenticity and intention. A healthy mama’s boy without hesitation; because Georgia Marie never played about me, so you know I DON'T play about her.

Happy International Dance Day.
Today, I’m sitting in deep gratitude.
I had the opportunity to speak at a career day with elementary students here in Kansas, and in sharing my journey, I was reminded of just how audacious it is to dream beyond yourself, and to actually follow it.
Dance has always given me permission to do exactly that. To push past limits. To explore. To discover who I am, again and again.
I started dancing in 1989… and somehow, that same fire is still here.
What began as a desire to become a professional dancer and teacher has grown into a life of directing, choreographing, and continuously evolving, not just as an artist, but as a human being. Dance has shown me my brilliance and my boundaries, and more importantly, how to hold both with honesty.
It has given me countless opportunities to express my humanity across styles, stages, and stories, and to share space with some truly brilliant bodies along the way.
And now, I find myself just as excited about what’s ahead. Maybe not the next 37 years hahaha, but certainly the next chapters. The next revelations. The next version of this dancing body.
All that to say… I’m grateful.

Full circle moment. ✨
After 20 years away pursuing life as a professional dance artist, returning home to Kansas City to perform Porgy and Bess with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts was truly special.
First time on that stage. First time performing this historic opera. And an honor to be featured in such a powerful production.
Even sweeter—sharing the journey with my wife and best friend, Latra Ann Wilson.
My connection with the Lyric actually goes back to my high school days assisting my mentor Tyrone Aiken. To return now as an artist feels deeply meaningful.
Sharing a few moments from the production here. Grateful to be home in KC, and hopeful this is just the beginning of continued work with the Lyric and this vibrant artistic community.

January had the world focused on staying warm and navigating the unforeseen—and in doing so, I almost overlooked two of the most significant milestones of my life, both marked on January 25.

January 25, 2004: the day my wife and I chose each other. The day we committed to walking this journey side by side, in love, in purpose, and in pursuit of our boldest and most audacious dreams. She became my girlfriend that day—and she will always be my girlfriend, because I am forever committed to earning her smile, her trust, and that look only she can give.

January 25, 2019: the inaugural birth of The DynamitExperience. We may not have children, but this is undeniably our baby—a living manifestation of our shared devotion to art, growth, and creating spaces where people can be fully seen, held, and transformed.

Two worlds. One love. One life built with intention.

Here’s to continuing to build, expand, and dream together—forever, my love.

My Christmas gift to myself is clarity as I continue to build and strengthen my community.

I’m learning that I will love you for life once that’s established,
But I may only be able to fuck with you for a season.
How long that season lasts is directly connected to our shared willingness, capacity, and ability to invest with genuine, mutual reciprocity.

If I truly understand this in 2026, in my 44th year of life, I will be deeply grateful.

I want to be met where I am, with the consistency I warrant and deserve.
I’m grateful for my community—and now focused on excavating the weeds and tending only the relationships that nourish and sustain me.

I’m learning to streamline my energy: releasing what isn’t returned and investing in those who are open, willing, and able to meet, match, and reciprocate with ease, love, accountability, and devotion to shared and individual success.
A safe space for bold evolution and honest aspiration.

I only get one round of this life.
From here forward, I choose to experience it with those who want the same—and are willing to show up consistently.

Each year is both an opportunity and a blessing—to experience and navigate this life with you. Through those annual discoveries, we continue finding new ways to approach, address, and commit to growing and learning together.

As a way to honor and celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary, we decided to spread the joy across a few days—from the 21st to the 23rd—allowing ourselves the space to celebrate without the pressure of condensing nearly two decades of love into a single moment.

What you see here are simple moments guided by simple criteria: exploring new places, trying new things, and sharing experiences. Day one began with breakfast. Day two, dinner. Day three, The Nutcracker. Small activities woven between the main moments—each one meaningful in its own way.

I look forward to how this celebration becomes a catalyst for how we choose to honor and celebrate our love moving forward.

19 years of marriage, and I’m still in awe of the way you showed up in my life—miraculous in timing, grounding in purpose, and overflowing with care, clarity, and laughter. In your presence, my life has always felt whole. I have never felt alone since the day you entered my world, and you continue to remind me that I can become whoever I dare to be. You’ve loved me through every iteration of my becoming and helped shape the man worthy of your love.

Building a life with you is both a privilege and a joy. Your passion for life, excellence, balance, and joy makes being your partner an absolute gift. Our individual and collective dreams continue to find harmony—on and off the Marley—and I’m humbled that The DynamitExperience reflects our shared ethos, passion, and life’s work made manifest.
