WHO ARE BEYOND BASIC? WE’RE NOT AN AGENCY. WE’RE NOT RECRUITING. AND WE’RE NOT LOOKING FOR MORE PEOPLE. We already have the team. We are Beyond Basic — a collective of experienced models, photographers and makeup artists who have spent years working together, building trust, understanding each other creatively and producing work that goes far beyond simply turning up for a shoot. This isn’t a casting call. It’s not a directory looking for applicants. It’s not an agency. It’s a collective. A group of creatives who already know each other, know how to work together and genuinely enjoy creating together. We’re here to showcase the talent within our existing team, celebrate collaboration and create opportunities for our people to produce incredible imagery, campaigns, brand collaborations and creative projects. No applications. No auditions. No hierarchy. Just experienced creatives, working collaboratively and pushing each other to create something Beyond Basic. We’re not looking for more. We’re looking to do more with what we already have. by @we_are_beyond_basic
WELCOME TO BEYOND BASIC WE'RE NOT AN AGENCY. WE'RE NOT HERE TO FIT THE MOULD. AND THAT'S EXACTLY THE POINT. I'm Lucy, also known as @luuellahh a freelance model, content creator and brand collaborator with 15+ years of experience and collaborations with over a thousand brands. Over those years, I've worked with some incredible people and been lucky enough to build a career doing what I love. But I've also seen the gaps. Too often, the industry gravitates towards the same faces, the same aesthetics and the same idea of what a model or creative should look like. And I've never been particularly good at fitting into boxes. So I created Beyond Basic. Beyond Basic is a creative directory and collective bringing together freelance models, photographers, makeup artists and other creatives who are experts in their own fields - but who also genuinely enjoy working together. It's a place for people to discover talent, see our work and connect directly with the creatives they want to hire. We're here for: Editorials Campaigns Brand collaborations Advertising Content creation Creative projects Long-term partnerships And we're deliberately not an agency. Everyone remains freelance, independent and in control of their own work and fees. Beyond Basic doesn't take a cut from someone's booking - it's simply a platform to showcase talent and create opportunities. Because I believe there is so much incredible talent that gets overlooked simply because it doesn't fit the traditional mould. Different looks. Different styles. Different personalities. Different experiences. That's what makes the work interesting. We're not about ego. We're not about competing with each other. We're not about taking opportunities away from anyone. We're about collaboration. Bringing good people together. Creating incredible work. Supporting each other. And proving that you don't have to look or work a certain way to produce exceptional results. This is Beyond Basic. A collective of freelancers who are ready to create something a little different. We're not here to fit the mould. We're here to break it. 📸 @stay.focused.photography 📍 @leicester.house by @we_are_beyond_basic
HOW DO YOU BECOME A PART OF BEYOND BASIC? Beyond Basic isn’t for everyone. And that’s exactly the point. We’re not an agency. We’re not a directory where anyone can simply sign up. We’re a carefully built collective of photographers, models and makeup artists who have worked together for years - people we know, trust and genuinely enjoy working alongside. For us, trust comes first. Always. Safeguarding is at the heart of Beyond Basic. We want every person involved to feel safe, respected, supported and happy in the working environment we create. That means we’re selective about who becomes part of the collective. Not because we think we’re better than anyone else, but because protecting the culture we’ve built matters. We value reliability. Professionalism. Respect. Good communication. Experience. And, importantly, being someone others genuinely want to work with. Beyond Basic is about creating better collaborations, stronger creative relationships and a safer way of working together. It’s a collective built on people - not numbers. Beyond Basic. More than a directory. A trusted creative collective. by @we_are_beyond_basic
