Now that I’ve had some time to decompress from my studies—I want to share a project that I completed earlier this year in May. As some of you know, I was conducting research in New York on CLT’s for some time. Here is a snippet of that work… and below is a small paragraph taken from my concluding remarks.

“These findings highlight that CLTs, while powerful in vision, are structurally constrained by the very systems they seek to transform. More broadly, this study suggests that CLTs should not be viewed as plug-in solutions to the affordable housing crisis, but as sites of ideological and political struggle. Their growing popularity reflects a breakdown of trust in state-led housing systems and a rising desire for models grounded in equity, racial justice, and community control. Their future—and their ability to remain transformative—depends on whether institutions are willing to resource this work without diluting its values. It will take more than programmatic adjustments to shift land and housing away from commodification and toward care, collectivity, and justice. CLTs alone cannot resolve the full scope of New York City’s housing crisis, but they offer a glimpse of what is possible when land is treated not as a commodity, but as a shared resource—held in common for the people who live, work, and build community on it. Whether that vision becomes reality depends not only on policy, but on power, collective memory, and the stories we tell about who housing is for—and who gets to decide.”

Shoutout to all the organizers and artists in NY. Thank you to all who supported me through this, it takes a village. ⭐️ onward! by @weak.sause

“Lo que arde allá lejos también se siente aquí.” Collage, 2025.

This collage turned into a post card is attempting to embody critical reflection in a time of transition and constant renegotiation. Words can only capture part of the story when gossiping under the thumb of tension, excitement, doubt, and fires (literally).

From a constant whirlpool trying to remind myself that place is a mere feeling, I thank you for letting me give you my summer 2025.

As always, I love u.
