🐔 Fried Chicken Wings 🍗

I had a SERIOUS craving for fried chicken and these wings came out tasting better than any fried chicken I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly crispy and golden, & perfectly juicy inside. 👌🏻

Now, I could have easily devoured this chicken plain and been fully satisfied, but I saw my new bottle of Tangerine Nightmare 🍊 hot sauce by @weaksaucephilly sitting there and I had to give it a try on this.

Omg, I literally couldn’t stop eating it and probably used a quarter of the bottle on just one plate of chicken wings. This sauce was seriously so damn good—the perfect amount of citrus sweetness combined with the right amount of heat. Can’t wait to try this out on tacos and create some sort of sandwich with it! 🍊🔥

I was sent this delicious fruity hot sauce the other day. Tangerine Nightmare from @weaksaucephilly

You already know how much I love my hot sauces, especially the fruit based ones. This one? REALLY good. Super bright, sweet tangerine flavor with a solid kick from habanero. I knew right away I wanted to try it with shrimp.

So I fried up some corn tortillas for homemade tostadas, spread a layer of refried beans, a creamy avocado sauce, and cooked up some shrimp inspired by tacos gobernador from Sinaloa. I sautéed poblano, garlic, onion, serrano chiles, roma tomatoes, Mexican oregano, and cilantro, then folded in the shrimp and let it all come together.

Garnished the tostadas with cotija cheese, pickled red onions spiced with thin habanero slices (which tied in perfectly with the sauce), the Tangerine Nightmare, and more cilantro.

Seriously... these slapped! The tangerine heat worked perfectly with the shrimp and creamy elements. If you’re a hot sauce fan, do yourself a favor and hit them up! This one’s a keeper. I've tried this on a couple burritos since I made these and it was great with chorizo and those heavy flavors too. It punched everything in the right direction.

New hot sauce alert! ⚠️🔥🌶️ @weaksaucephilly was kind enough to send me a bottle of their Tangerine Nightmare to try out. It's a habanero based sauce with tangerine and on the milder side with a bit of sweetness. They label it a 4 out of 10 for heat, so it's good for a range of people's taste buds. It may be unconventional, but I love to use hot sauce as a low calorie option for salad dressing, especially if they are on the sweet side. One of my go to salads are chicken, apple, and veggies, and a sweeter sauce is the perfect compliment (think raspberry vinaigrette but with a kick) They are a small batch local business, with clean, minimal ingredients which I can appreciate. Give them a try if you get a chance! 😋🌶️

TACO DAY 2145

Tangerine Nightmare Salmon Tacos

I marinated this salmon for 24 hours in a bath of @weaksaucephilly Tangerine Nightmare Hot Sauce before cooking it for these tacos. Once the fish was ready I tossed it into some corn tortillas alongside some delicious slaw made with cabbage, cilantro, jalapeno, and onion.

Then I drizzled a little more sauce on cause im crazy!

Wicked Chicken Masterpiece!!!

In the realm of tacos, darkness reigns supreme, and these chicken tacos are no exception, for they are a culinary masterpiece of wicked proportions!

Behold, as a toasted flour tortilla, imbued with the sinister essence of melted cheese, serves as the vessel for this diabolical creation. Within its grasp lies a slaw of ominous hues, crafted from the blood-red depths of red and purple cabbage, entwined with the chilling embrace of cilantro, green onions, and yellow peppers. A dressing, concocted from the souls of sour cream, mayonnaise, mustard, lime juice, tangerine essence, honey, and the cursed elixir of apple cider vinegar, binds these accursed ingredients together in unholy matrimony.

But lo, the darkness deepens as the chicken breasts, mercilessly hammered into submission, are anointed with a vile blend of spices, born of the roasted beans of @montaguebrotherscoffee, mingled with the essence of garlic, pepper, and salt. Cooked to perfection in the fiery depths of a cast iron cauldron, they are then diced and baptized in the infernal flames of honey and the wicked elixir known only as @weaksaucephilly's Tangerine Nightmare.

With each sinister bite, the flavors meld in unholy communion, weaving a tapestry of decadence and malevolence. Such is the power of this dark symphony, for this, my friends, is the Slay! Dare you partake in its delicious damnation?

TACO DAY 1665

SPICY HONEY CITRUS CHICKEN TACOS

Not all chicken tacos are created equal, and these were phenomenal!

Inside of a toasted flour tortilla with melted cheese I added a cabbage slaw made from red and purple cabbage, cilantro, green onions, and yellow peppers with a dressing if sour cream, mayonnaise, mustard, lime juice, tangerine juice, honey, and apple cider vinegar. 😋

Next I hammerd out some chicken breasties and seasoned them with a homemade coffee blend of spices using locally roasted @montaguebrotherscoffee beans, garlic, pepper and salt and cooked them up in a cast iron. Once the chicken was cooked thoroughly I diced it up and tossed it in a bowl with honey and a massssssive pour of @weaksaucephilly 's Tangerine Nightmare 🍊 .

Once everything was in the Taco together the flavors blended together phenomenally. Such a great combination!

This is the Slay!
