🌎🌟 This past Saturday I played my first football game in over 17 years, we put boot to ass and won 38-14, and it was probably the most fun I’ve had in an athletic endeavor in a long time. This football journey has been filling a huge hole in my spirit as far as my own self-discovery and overall satisfaction with my self-worth and self-confidence, and for that I am so grateful for the @tarponspringspirates for welcoming me onto the organization.
•
Had to fill in on O Line due to a personnel shortage but still got a couple reps at my normal position of Running Back, and played a lot of D-Line and Linebacker and put a lot of guys on their ass! Now we get back to work and keep getting better, regular season starts late February!

🌎🌟 You win and lose some. And every loss comes a tougher pill to swallow. Self-questioning follows. Self doubt. Harsh critics/critiques and foul words folded into a giant dust mite of verbal filth, soaked in metaphorical mud and thrown your way. This is what comes when you are climbing a ladder. Striving to be better. Scaling towards the mountaintop and seeing the peak moves further away from you the closer you get. Because no one throw harsher than those on the sidelines, or at the bottom of the mountain watching those courageous enough to climb.

BUT, It’s not about the loss during the fight. It’s the decision to not give up afterwards. It’s the decision to feel all of these negative things and keep pushing forward anyway. That makes a champion. And I will continue to do my best to be the representation of that.
•
4th place at the Chicago pro 212. Again. Brought best ever. Still not enough. Still not satisfied. Tampa Pro, here we come 😤

🌎🌟 My thoughts on the Cornell situation given the conversations I’ve had with females friends and the amount that they have experienced events like this. If you watch the full 3 minutes, thank you. 🌎🌟 Some think that “good” is simply what you do. What matters more is what the true intentions in your heart were when you did it

Analogy from a conversation with a friend:
A homeless person approaches me asking for money, he says he’s hungry and needs food. I give him $10. He uses it along with other money he’s collected to buy dr*gs and alcohol. What he did with the money is irrelevant. I gave it with the desire to genuinely help him, with no expectation of something in return. What he did with the blessing is on him.
•
Moral of that:
Don’t stop being kind and good to others simply because some don’t know what to do with it, if “kind and good” is what genuinely resides in your heart. It’s who you are. Never change.
•
Footnote: Now the question of being more cautious about who you give it to?! Well that’s a conversation and a rabbit hole to dive into another day 😎

My answer is always, “Whatever style you enjoy the most. If you enjoy it, you’ll work your hardest at it and you’ll glean the best possible results from it.”

A plan you love and that makes you train hard will always be infinitely better than a plan that is perfect on paper but you hate. What will get you in the gym and bust your ass? That’s the plan for you.
