Well it’s been a while so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. 🙋🏽‍♀️ Few little bits about me 👇🏽 ⭐️ I'm Natalie (most people call me Nat). ⭐️ I’ve been married for 14 years and I’m a very proud mum to my two beautiful daughters Milly (10) and Bella (12). ⭐️ Oh, and I can't forget my two furry babies, Billy and Maggie, who bring so much joy (and insanity) to our lives! 🐶🐶 ⭐️ For the past 13 years, I've had the pleasure of calling Ampthill my home and truly do love where I live. ❤️ ⭐️ I'm a total sucker for a packet salt and vinegar crisps and a cheeky gin. ⭐️ My guilty pleasure is watching pure trash tv…Love Island anyone? ⭐️ I started Bee Noticed back in 2020 and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Last Friday we were back at @thegeorgemaulden for coffee, pastries, lots of chatting, plenty of connecting and, most importantly, a lot of laughing. The sun was shining, the doors were open and we even managed to take some of the chatting out onto the balcony. Not bad for October (anyone else just love an autumn sunny day)? 🍁 This month, @annamosleycoaching took the spotlight and talked to us about how to be the CEO of your life. Chief ENERGY Officer, that is. And she definitely gave us all plenty to think about. So much so, I’ve just joined Anna’s 80% Club myself. Last week I spent far less time at my desk than usual. However, it was probably one of the most valuable weeks I’ve had in my business for a while. 🐝 Monday started with leadership training at The Rufus Centre. 🐝 Wednesday was a busy one. I popped along to the launch of BNI Thrive in Flitwick, followed by dinner at @hotel_latourmk in Milton Keynes with a brilliant group of women from across the creative industries. 🐝 Thursday was The Brand Room, hosted by @janine.coney @joannawoodphotography and @logolady.co.uk where I was one of the experts in the room chatting all things social media. 🫶🏽 Such a brilliant day, and I’ll be sharing more about this one separately because it genuinely deserves its own post. 🐝 Friday was @ampthillbusinessconnect hosted by the formidable @sbrydoncoaching with a fantastic introduction and presentation from Bryan at @ampthillghostwalks 👏🏽 Five events. A lot of conversations. New connections. New ideas. Learning and plenty of thinking about where I want to take Bee Social next. I finished the week swapping business for a day shopping in London with my teenage daughters (yep, it was expensive). ❤️ When you run your own business, it’s very easy to spend all your time doing the work. Client work.
Emails.
Content.
Admin.
The never ending to do list. But making time to step away from that and work on the business matters too. Last week was a good reminder of that. Is it easy though??? 🤔 I mean, to be fair, anyone can post, right? But knowing what to post, making sure you’re posting with purpose, understanding your audience, having a strategy, creating content pillars and knowing how each platform actually works - honestly, that’s just the basics. I left my laptop at home for a few days. And I really needed to. No checking emails. No “I’ll just quickly get this done.” No worrying about what was waiting for me when I got back. And, considering I work in social media, a lot less time on my phone too. 😂 Just being present with my girls. Talking properly with my friend. Teaching the kids how to play Rummy. Losing at Rummy 🤷🏽‍♀️. Reading a book. Listening to music and podcasts around the pool. Laughing. Eating good food (nobody can tell me @slimchickens isn’t all kinds of tasty). Walking on the beach. And having that lovely feeling of freedom that you sometimes forget you need. When you run your own business, it can be really hard to completely switch off. And when your business revolves around social media, it’s even easier to convince yourself you need to be online. But the world didn’t stop because I wasn’t posting, checking notifications or replying immediately. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing work-related. Back at my desk today, up early, raring to go and already getting s**t done. 😂 Turns out leaving the laptop at home and spending a little less time online was exactly what I needed. Some opportunities are an easy yes. 🙌🏽 I had the honour of stepping in as compère alongside the brilliant @theclaireyoungperspective for the second @ampthillvscancer 5K event, alongside the Golden Hare Mile and the Mini Hare Run for the little ones, and it was a real privilege from start to finish. 😍 When @dave.bateson75 asked if I could help, I didn’t hesitate. I was genuinely honoured to be asked. For those who don’t know, Ampthill vs Cancer is a local charity raising funds for cancer-related charities @keechhospice and @moveagainstcancercharity and projects that support people in our community who have been affected by cancer. Yesterday’s event was another fantastic example of that mission in action. There were smiles, laughter, definitely a few emotional moments and an incredible atmosphere throughout the day. 💜 But yesterday wasn’t just about the running. It was about the support. The people. The volunteers. The sponsors. The families cheering from the sidelines. And a community coming together to make a real difference for local people. Seeing that support again firsthand was something really special. It reminded me just how powerful a community can be when everyone pulls in the same direction. A huge thank you to Dave, the committee and every single volunteer, sponsor and participant who made the day such a success. 💛 #ampthillvscancer #ampthillgreatpark taken in Ampthill by @wearebeesocial
