I’ve been producing photo shoots for years and I almost never talk about it. Looking back at these, I just feel really fortunate. The people I get to work with are so talented. And I wouldn’t be here without the friends I’ve made along the way doing this. Most of the photographers I work with just want to create, and I get to create an environment where that’s the only thing they focus on. It really becomes a match made in heaven. Yesterday I announced @wearechalant Today I want to pull back the curtain to show you the behind the scenes of our brand. Every color, every typeface, every gradient was an intentional decision. @valentimabln (our creative director) and I spent nearly a year making sure this brand didn’t just look good, but felt good. It was all intentional decisions. We tried to be really *Chalant* about the whole thing 😉 The logo, the grain on the gradients, the typography was all thought through. Meet Chalant. The opposite of non-chalant. In 2015, I opened McKinney Media, LLC. Over the past decade, I’ve produced commercials for brands like Amazon, Walmart, and Whole Foods. It’s been an incredible journey being a part of and watching how the biggest companies create content. Since then, the team has grown by two full-time employees + a fractional CFO. Last year, some shoots were able to happen without me on set. That’s when I realized the business had outgrown the name. It was no longer just me. It had become something bigger. Now we’re operating as Chalant. We make world-class content for brands by prioritizing stewardship, hospitality, and letting data guide us to better work. I’ve never been so excited to be in business. This has been years in the making, and I’m thrilled to be able to share this with you. Thanks for the love and encouragement along the way.
