Coding Systems is taking the 2026 International Assembly stage, and I’m excited just thinking about it.

‘Coding Systems is an avant-garde, hybrid design practice led by Tim Rodenbröker and Martin Lorenz. Operating at the innovative intersection of creative coding and flexible visual systems, the studio rejects traditional, rigid corporate branding in favor of custom code that generates living, highly adaptable visual identities. Rather than acting as a clinical, data-driven agency, Coding Systems positions human intuition, artistic experimentation, and critical thought far above algorithmic optimization.’

You can also upgrade your coding game in a 2-day workshop with Coding Systems founders Tim Rodenbröker and Martin Lorenz.

Their work mixes code and curiosity, creating living visual identities that evolve through experimentation rather than predictability.

With the freedom to code design tools, the software landscape is shifting. In this conversation, Martin and Tim unpack arising questions: What exactly defines a good tool? Are modern ecosystems empowering us, or are they dictating our creative boundaries? Where is the room for “inspirational mistakes”, the jazz of design, when software only sees us as users and not as living systems? I'm very excited to be part of a team of outstanding people working on this new (online) master program @societaldesign.elisava at @elisava.school .

The program is powered by @darkmatter_labs and we dare to ask huge questions, to rewrite the brief and dream up design for a world that makes sense. 🔥

Shoutout to Emily and Martin, the two heads of the program that work with full force to make this thing come true. ❤️🔥
