As the holiday lights go up and the party playlists roll out, we asked a pair of our favourite artists to round off the year with festive Top 10 lists. First up is Oxford’s glitch-pop duo @wearedreamphone, fresh off releasing one of 2025’s most chaotic and charming holiday tracks, “shite xmas” out now via @divineschism . Brimming with synths, sleigh bells, and biting sarcasm, the song captures the awkward, anxious side of the season — and so does their definitive list of Christmas film characters who are just a little too miserable to fake the cheer.

Our dear pals Dream Phone bring you a one-off glitch-synth banger today as they join the festoons of artists throwing their hat into the ring for a Christmas tune! A true anti-festive number and a long-overdue play on White Christmas, make sure to add this to your playlists if that’s something you do - see what the family think on the day itself as it permeates through your pudding!

All download sales go to the UN Crisis Relief for Sudan so get downloading!

Jenny and Hannah say about the song: “Christmas is obviously a lovely time of year for many of us, but it feels difficult to celebrate while the world is on fire. And there’s a lot of pressure to enjoy it at all costs which can be quite anxiety-inducing.

The song draws on that sense of guilt and heartache, and those funny family conversations – where relatives ask how the music’s going, and you explain you don’t make any money from it but enjoy doing it anyway, or how and why you’re vegetarian! Basically it’s about being a bit of a miserable git at this time of year. It’s also our attempt to create one of those cash cow Christmas songs and break into the charts – we want to be the new Mariah!”

Welcome to December everyone! #christmasnumberone #christmassingle #divineschism #dreamphone #glitchpop by @wearedreamphone
