“By A Miracle, I’m Alive” is yours.

This album was born in a cold, unfinished, dilapidated basement in the middle of Pennsylvania that we turned into a home: The Cave. When we first stepped foot into the space, insulation hung from the ceiling, cobwebs and dirt covered every concrete surface, and there was only one outlet in the entire room (which electrically shocked Ben when he was plugging in a bass amp). Two weeks into its use, the room almost flooded during a thunderstorm. Over the next summer, mold spores grew on everything on which mold spores could grow. Humidity bent the piano out of tune. A year later, the humidity conversely bent it back in tune. The water heater would scream when any of the residents of the house took a shower. Every footstep on the ceiling above was heard. The buzz of our instruments scattered asbestos into the air from the water pipes on the perimeter of the room. Anything that passed through the pipes of the house that could be smelt, was smelt. This album was put to rest in Pittsburgh, our origin.

It has been three years since we gave you Head To The Sun. Precisely, three years and eight days. In the time since the release of that record, in no particular order:

We’ve become a trio,
We’ve had the pleasure of playing with numerous live musicians,
We’ve given you the Morning’s First Light EP and Singles I,
We’ve written and recorded countless unheard songs,
We’ve met many of you reading this,
and we’ve decided that this is centerpiece of our lives.

Every detail of this record is sincere. Every note, every lyric, every high, and every low was placed with intention. We wrote this record. We recorded this record. We engineered this record. We demanded nothing but everything from ourselves at each moment we contributed a piece to this record.

We owe special recognition to Ryan Clark for his drumming on most of these songs. We also thank Matt Meinert for his contributions in the final sprint of this record.

We sincerely hope you enjoy Jaaye 2.
