Come spend a Sunday with Maya & Likhaya! Maya is one of our amazing PAs, helping with PR and marketing. Sundays are a very important day for our #StARTup Incubator. All of our artists gather at Jeremy and Zarina’s house for an evening of learning, connection, and, of course, a fantastic homemade dinner. This Sunday was extra special because we took a trip to see @a.galue’s exhibit at @pivotarts! Shout out to @andieandthebandits, @blkbeltsoprano, and @danielcjackson!!! This Sunday, we had the pleasure of attending @a.galue’s Paradise Aliens at the @pivotarts festival and @wirtzcenter Chicago. We were captivated by the cosmic collision of Andean folklore and surreal, dream-like landscapes. His murals spread across the entire space, creating a monument to the trauma of displacement and a fractured world, and weaving together the past and the future in a colorful, psycho-magical experience. Alsonso Galue’s Paradise Aliens will be at the Wirtz Center Chicago throughout the academic year. Congrats, Alonso, on a fantastic exhibition! We are very proud to introduce Daniel Jackson, a fantastic musician who has been involved with Likhaya since our beginnings. He is currently working with the Emerging Artists, a Likhaya program which provides a base of skills for teenage artists so they can thrive in the StARTup Incubator upon graduation. Pursuing a career as an artist can be challenging–mentally and physically. Likhaya is proud to foster a community of artists like Daniel who are excited to support each other at exhibitions/performances, to pass on their experiences, and to take advantage of the support Likhaya has to offer. To support artists like Daniel “putting their mission into practice,” subscribe to the @wearelikhaya YouTube channel and follow along in our #StARTup docu-series! #likhaya #wearelikhaya #StARTup #entrepreneurship #artbusiness #evanstonfarmersmarket #livemusicevanston #evanstoncommunity #supportlocalart #supportlocalmusicians #local #evanston #mentorship #buildingcommunity #docuseries taken in Evanston, Illinois by @wearelikhaya
