Back before Josh was in the band, we used to meet up in a pub in Stokesley for an open mic night. This is ‘Boys Of The Old Estate’ which we’ve never recorded/released. But we probably should.

Back when we were younger and you would run before I’d knock,
Those angry neighbours they knew our faces and screamed at us to stop,
Later on around a kitchen table parents told us off,
I never thought there’d come a day,
Where we weren’t up to no good together,
Catch the train to Redcar beach and jump cracks along the way,
You’d always ask for Lemon on your ice cream you’re so strange,
With the last of our pocket change lost to the arcades,
I thought these days would never stop,
I thought they might just last forever,

Memories they fade but you stay etched into my brain,
They say that I should let it go, but I still see you clear as day,
And I don’t wanna grow and wonder just what became
Of the boys,
The boys of the old estate,

Find ourselves in council flats so bad the stomach turns,
Cramped onto a sofa in the hope we’d talk to girls,
Those online Casanovas they would promise them the world,
Through MSN I’d give you anything you want,
I promise we’ll be together,
And then it’s down to Old Man’s park for White Lightning on the bench,
A drink too strong for anyone it could buckle full grown men,
I think back then we probably felt like we were one of them,
I thought these days would never stop,
I thought they might just last forever,

Memories they fade but you stay etched into my brain,
They say that I should let it go, but I still see you clear as day,
And I don’t wanna grow and wonder just what became
Of the boys,
The boys of the old estate, by @weareniceguy

Buzzing to announce that we will be releasing ‘Beautiful Day’ in June. Recorded with @kuba_lev_and_owski up in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

It’s one we’ve been playing live for a while. It’s mellow, it’s sweet, it’s beautiful. We hope you love it!
