State of the Art: Camden Ness (IA, ‘31) competed in the Rainbow, Spotlight, and Act 1 Talent competitions with his Tap team, Hip Hop team, and Company team from The Music Room, an arts enrichment program. Camden also competed a hip hop solo this year and received numerous awards including Double Platinum ranking and fifth place overall division winner for his solo at Rainbow, as well as Diamond ranking and third place overall division winner for his solo at Spotlight. by @weareocsa

Katelyn Chang (IM, ‘28), Nour-Eldin Elshahawi (FTV, ‘27), and Jayden Kim (IM, ‘27) won third prize in the High School Western Division of the 2026 C-SPAN StudentCam documentary competition for their video titled, “The Key to a Healthy Democracy,” about how the legacy of the Declaration of Independence inspires youth community service, and how that service, in turn, strengthens our communities in a uniquely American way through civic engagement. State of the Art: Jeeho Park (IM, ‘29), Skyler Tran (IM, ‘28), and Julian Yoon (IM, ‘28), won first prize at the 71st Friends of Chamber Music Young Musicians Competition in Vancouver, Canada in March 2026. Also known as Trio Élégiaque, the team has performed at a variety of venues, including the Nixon Library, Irvine Valley College, Cerritos College, Vancouver Academy of Music, churches, and retirement homes. by @weareocsa

This distinction is the highest level of recognition granted to charter schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated exceptional dedication, commitment, and achievement in the field of special education.
