Did you know this?? Most compostable products don’t actually get composted, and end up fill landfills 😭😭 It was something I discovered early in our journey to launch Sproutable. And the exact reason we made all our products HOME compostable. 🌱🌱 Most people don’t have access to commercial facilities, and those that do, can’t necessarily take compostable packaging like cups or plates (only food scraps). Many ‘compostable’ products require high heat and pressure to actually break down. 🫠 So they end up in the landfill where they never break down, because the proper conditions don’t exist there. And if that’s the case, then what’s the point?! That’s why we’re different! 🎉🎉 Our products breakdown in any outdoor compost pile, or even just garden soil. 🪴🪴 Plus any green curbside bin (even ones that only take food waste and garden trimmings), because they’ll break down just like an orange peel or piece of fruit. 🍌🍎 Plus they are actually cute! 🎀🎀 Sustainable doesn’t have to mean boring. We’re Sproutable, and we’re changing the game in composting 🌱🌱 We hope you FOLLOW along @wearesproutable #compostable #sustainablelifestyle #ecofriendlytips #homecompostable plasticfree Sustainable tips, living sustainably, composting tips, composting hacks, how to compost, what is home compostable, eco friendly hacks, eco conscious tips, zero waste living, plastic free oceans by @wearesproutable
plastic free, high quality pieces that work better anyway! 🌱🌱 1) La Fermiere yogurt cups @lafermiere.us Seriously my favorite product container ever designed 🫶🏼 Such high quality, gorgeous color and pertectly reusable! They’ve become our go-to kids cups at home. You can even put them in the oven! 2) marble cutting board from @magnolia Beautiful, plastic free and high quality. And small enough to leave out on your counter ✨ 3) stainless steel bento boxes for lunches 🍎 We tried to keep our plastic ones as long as we could to not trash them, but they got moldy and eventually a broken seal. Not a fan, never going back! These stainless steel ones are dishwasher safe, feel very clean and practically indestructible 💪🏼 4) ceramic colander ✨ Found this in a cute boutique store for $14. I’m sure your local shop might have one! Much better than plastic. 5) Sproutable cups 🌱 So cute for on the go! Home compostable and 100% plastic free. Even the packaging! Perfect for kids, adults... the whole family. And just toss in your home compost when you’re done. ✅ No commercial compost facilities required 🌱 Living in my plastic free era and loving it. ✨ Higher quality materials hold up better and aren’t leaching chemicals into our bodies #plasticfree #sustainableliving #zerowastelife #sustainableproducts Plastic free household product ideas, tips for a plastic free kitchen, tips for a plastic free home, sustainable living, no microplastics, compostable products, plastic tree parenting, plastic free kid products, mom hacks by @wearesproutable

On a mission to make composting less scary 🌱🌷 Sure, composting can feel a bit overwhelming, but when you find out some people literally just dig a hole in the ground and bury their food scraps, you’ll realize there’s all kinds of ways to try it! And for every food scrap you don’t put in the trash, the more you’re helping the planet. plus if you’re really good at it, you can create your own soil to use in the garden. 🌱🌷🥕 Easy way to start 👇🏼 If you have outdoor space, start with a planter box, add some soil, leaves, small pieces of cardboard and throw all your food scraps in. No milk, fats, oil or meat. And find something to cover it. Mix it up every week and wet it… and in a 1-2 months you’ll have created some nutrient rich compost to put in your plants! 🪴 And you’ll have diverted waste from the landfill to restore nutrients right back into the soil. 🌱🌱 But also, what if more products went right back into the earth when you were done with them?! Wouldn’t that make it even better?? 🌷 We’re Sproutable, and we’re changing the game in compostables. No more ‘must be commercially composted’, and no more reading the fine print to know which green bin to put them in: Our products break down like a piece of fruit. They can go in ANY green bin around the world because they will decompose just like your leaves or banana peels. They can even be buried right in your dirt. #ecofriendlyproducts #compostable #composting #soil Composting tips, garden hacks, nature lovers, growing up in the country, backyard composting, new to composting by @wearesproutable
