🚨OUT NOW! Our 2nd single “Over Oceans” continues the story that “Jetlag” started. In other words, “Jetlag” was the party and “Over Oceans” is the hangover. It’s a deeply personal story about refocusing your heart from the artificial to the sentimental. Breathing new life into an old flame and realizing what’s actually important. It’s a somber reminder that though we may deviate from our course, the people that love us are there to guide us back home. Like the chorus says, “I’ve got cash that I can blow, and I’ve got reapers I can sow, and I’ve got plans for all the enemies I know. I can crash and burn and fall into the sea, but I’ve got better angels calling me.” We dedicate this song to all the angels in our lives, whoever or whatever they may be. The song is also dedicated in loving memory of Matthew Scoggins, founding member and drummer of STARRY EYES who recently passed away. RIP brother💜 💙 🖤

Jetlag is here and it feels like a dream 😳 From the second @johnshippeysounds showed me the voice memo with the rough instrumentation I knew this was the song that would set us on our path. I remember writing the lyrics within 15 minutes of hearing those first few chords on John’s phone. Sometimes it’s like that with music — pure magic. Over the course of the next few posts we will tell the full story of Jetlag, its tragic history, it’s deep and personal point of view, and what it means to us as a new band moving forward with our first single. But for now we want to thank some incredibly talented, special people who spent time with us in the lab and helped bring this song to life.

Today my dad turns 69 and it’s a miracle he’s still alive. This man has lived a life you wouldn’t believe — full of sex, drugs, and unspeakable crime.
