Create a music pitch for the supplied :30 Mercedes advert, with your track mixed and laid back to the video. The top 10 submissions will be selected by music supervisors to be played and discussed during the live panel at PITCH 2026.

Getting placed and getting paid are two different jobs. Most artists only prepare for the first one.

Your cue sheet is the document that tells the PRO who to pay and how much. If your writer names, splits, publisher info, or PRO registration are messy, the placement can still happen and the royalty can still get lost.

Every artist trying to get a sync placement is chasing the music supervisor. That is exactly the wrong move.

Music supervisors are not talent scouts. They are solving a production problem under a deadline. When a brief comes in, they go to people they already trust, not a cold submission from an unknown artist.

The actual entry point is a sync agent. They already have those relationships. They know what supervisors are working on before the brief is public. You are not cold submitting to a busy inbox. You are being introduced by someone that person trusts.

That is a different game entirely.

Save this and learn the actual access chain before you send another cold email.

Most independent artists want sync placements. Very few of them know that the music is not the first thing a supervisor checks.

Before a music supervisor will listen to your track for a placement, they need to know that licensing it will not require three emails, two lawyers, and a clearance chase that delays the project by a month.

That is called one-stop clearance. You control both the master and the composition. No uncleared samples. No missing co-writer registrations. No loop pack used under the wrong license.

If any one of those is broken, your track is off the table before it gets a real listen.

Most artists chasing sync don't know there are 6 completely different types of placements with completely different fee structures.

A reality TV placement pays $500. A trailer placement pays $100,000. The type you target matters as much as whether you get placed at all.

The inaugural @wearesyncstate experience at @departurefest was everything we hoped it would be and then some. A room full of artists, creators, and industry professionals getting a real, unfiltered look at how sync decisions actually get made with a special gift from our sponsor @disco.ac

None of it happens without the people who showed up and gave everything to this room.
