On Sunday, March 28th, 2026, Daniel Wherrett, more commonly known as DJ Dan, passed away. A true pioneer of the West Coast House movement, Dan helped shape the sound and left a lasting impact on dance music culture, spanning over four decades.

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2009, at VEMF (Victoria Electronic Music Festival), our late friend and legendary photographer Vladimir captured a handful of photos of Dan in Centennial Square and at Hush Nightclub in Victoria, BC. We’ve had the honour of restoring and sharing these moments in his memory.

CERTIFIED GHOSTED THROWBACK*** FEBRUARY 9TH, 2008. Wes Bain @yeastie_boi & Xavier Walker @xisforxavier joined forces in 2003 as W.A.X. For five years, these boys had been throwing down their cutting-edge selection of crunchy, driving, peak time, party rocking breaks all over the island. On Saturday, February 9, 2008 Christoph Maitland @christophmaitland of Shortfuse Promotions booked the two local legends their first ever headline slot at Hush Nightclub. The club ran out of beer at 11:30 PM and at midnight, the show was sold out. It was absolute, fucking mayhem. Expect the return this year… Stay Ghosted.

It’s been a little over two weeks since ALL MY FRIENDS ARE DJS, and we’re still buzzin’.. One of the undisputed highlights? That absolute weapon of a set from WESBEANZ. The man’s a two-decade veteran, and after vanishing for eight years, we knew it was time for a resurrection. His 11-Midnight takeover from that night is now live on SoundCloud — link in our bio. To keep the memories flowin, here’s a round of shots from that epic night at AMFADJS. All of these photos were taken with cell phones of some very lovely friends who were there that night. At 9 PM, my photographer told me he couldn’t make it due to personal reasons, so I was having a bit of a panic attack, but in the end, we got a handful of great shots, and I think we might have just enough video for a reel. Sometimes, these things happen, and you just gotta keep on rollin’. Stay Ghosted friends.

Every now and then, I will post a photo album from 2007-2010 on GHOSTED. These photos were taken either by me (Xavier) or by my late friend, the legendary local photographer Vladimir Vukmirovich, who passed away in 2016. In 2009, Vlad shot every single ‘OH GREAT’ (a weekly Monday run by myself & Wes Beanz @yeastie_boi ) and more than a handful of top-shelf nights at Hush Nightclub. Recently, I’ve had the privilege of gaining access to all of Vlad’s old hard drives, whilst also rediscovering my own. I’m looking forward to reviving these old archives, celebrating Vlad’s work, and hopefully igniting some epic memories as we create new ones together.

In light of my birthday coming up on the 15th, we are kicking things off with Dilemn, a France-based breaks producer, with support by WAX & DJ Generic on November 15th, 2009, at Hush Nightclub. That’s Vladdy on the last pic. Stay GHOSTED my babies.
