Hi, I’m Tina! 👋 Founder of FLAT. 🖤 A little over a year ago, I had a double mastectomy and made the decision to stay flat. No reconstruction. No regrets. But when I started shopping for swimwear, I realized something was missing. Everything seemed to be designed for breasts I no longer had. Cups, padding, extra fabric — none of it made sense for my body. So I decided to create what I couldn’t find. FLAT. was born. A swimwear and lifestyle brand intentionally designed for flat bodies. Modern silhouettes, beautiful fabrics, and absolutely no pretending something is missing. I’m building this from the ground up — learning, designing, testing, and figuring things out along the way. And I want to bring you along for the journey. Because FLAT. is about more than swimwear. It’s about confidence, representation, and celebrating the bodies we have. To all my fellow flatties — this one’s for us. 🖤 ✨ Follow @wearflat and help me build something that should have existed a long time ago. FLAT. Made for flat bodies. Made to be seen. #wearflat #flatandproud #aestheticflatclosure #founderstory #flatswimwear by @wearflat
Today is International Flat Day. 🖤 A day to celebrate flat bodies, flat choices, and the people who chose - or found themselves on - a path that doesn’t always get enough visibility. Going flat after mastectomy can look different for everyone. For some, it’s empowering. For some, it’s complicated. For some, it simply feels like the right choice. But every flat body deserves to be seen, represented, and celebrated. FLAT. was born from that belief: that our bodies shouldn’t have to conform to swimwear or clothing designed for a shape we no longer have. Today, we celebrate this community - and every scar, story, choice, and body within it. Happy International Flat Day. 🖤 We are FLAT. And we belong here. #internationalflatday #aestheticflatclosure #flatandproud #flatcommunity #flatliving by @wearflat
This is more than swimwear. It’s a movement. 🖤 A movement for representation. For confidence. For feeling comfortable in the skin you're in. FLAT. was created with one belief: Flat bodies deserve to be seen, celebrated, and designed for. We're building more than a swimwear brand. We're building a community of women who believe that flat is beautiful, confidence comes in every shape, and there's nothing missing. And we'd love for you to be part of it. 🖤 FOLLOW @wearflat to follow our journey from concept to launch. 🖤 SHARE this post with someone who deserves to know FLAT. exists. 🖤 JOIN THE WAITLIST at wearflat.com to be among the first to hear about our launch. The first time I put on a swimsuit after my double mastectomy. 🖤 It wasn't just about putting on a swimsuit. It was about seeing myself in a body that looked totally different from the one I'd known for almost 50 years. A body that had been through cancer, surgery, and was in the process of healing. A body I was still getting to know. Choosing to go flat was a decision I felt confident about. But that doesn't mean every new experience came without emotion. What I've learned is that confidence doesn't necessarily mean feeling comfortable every single moment. Sometimes it means showing up, trying something new, and giving yourself the grace to grow into this version of yourself. And somewhere along this journey, I realized I wanted more than just to feel comfortable in a swimsuit. I wanted women like me to have swimwear that was actually designed for our bodies. That's part of how @wearflat came to life. Here's to new beginnings, new perspectives, and learning to love the body that carried us through. 🤍 To my fellow flatties: Do you remember the first time you wore a swimsuit after surgery? How did it feel? Thank you @thebustedtank for getting me through my first family vacation five weeks post double mastectomy (white tank). #AestheticFlatClosure #LivingFlat #FlatAndProud #LifeAfterMastectomy #FlatClosure by @wearflat

PINKTOBER. 🎀 But make room for FLAT. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than pink ribbons. It’s also about recognizing every version of life after breast cancer - including women who choose aesthetic flat closure. Because breast cancer awareness should include what comes after. The changed bodies. The scars. The choices we make for ourselves. And the many different ways we move forward. For some of us, that means living flat - and being proud of the bodies we have today. This Pinktober, we’re making space for that representation, too. For the women who chose flat. For the women who weren’t given a choice. For the women still deciding what comes next. We see you. 🩷 Flat is a body. Flat is a choice. Flat is beautiful. FLAT. and proud. #breastcancerawareness #aestheticflatclosure #flatandproud #flatrepresentation #wearflat by @wearflat
Representation matters because seeing bodies that look like ours changes what feels possible. For women who are flat after mastectomy, swimwear advertising rarely reflects the bodies we actually live in. We deserve to see flat chests represented not as something to hide, replace, or “fix” — but simply as another beautiful body. FLAT. is creating swimwear designed for us, and a brand where flat bodies are visible, confident, strong and fully represented. #WearFLAT #AestheticFlatClosure #FlatAndProud #FlatAfterMastectomy #RepresentationMatters by @wearflat
Meet The Halter. This one piece is designed for those days when you want something simple, flattering, and effortlessly confident. No cups. No padding. No trying to create a shape that isn’t yours. Instead, the focus is on a beautiful neckline, secure coverage, and a silhouette that lets your body be exactly as it is. This is an early sample, and seeing each design move from an idea to something tangible is incredibly exciting. FLAT. swimwear is coming Spring 2027. Follow along as we build it. wearflat.com #WearFLAT #AestheticFlatClosure #FlatAfterMastectomy #FlatAndProud #TheHalter by @wearflat
One year ago today, I had a double mastectomy and chose aesthetic flat closure (AFC). At the time, I wasn’t thinking about starting a swimwear company. I was thinking about getting through surgery, healing, and getting back to my life. But as I started living in my new body, I began noticing something: so much of women’s clothing — especially swimwear — was designed around breasts. Cups. Padding. Extra fabric. Empty space. I didn’t want to hide my flat chest or recreate something that was no longer there. I wanted clothes designed intentionally for the body I actually have. That idea became FLAT. Swimwear without cups. Without unnecessary padding. Without pretending our bodies need to be something they’re not. One year after my mastectomy, samples are being made, suits are being fit-tested, and a brand I never imagined creating is becoming real. FLAT. started with my story. But I’m building it for all of us. FLAT. and proud. wearflat.com #WearFLAT #FlatAndProud #AestheticFlatClosure #GoingFlat #FlatSwimwear by @wearflat
