I met an unlikely new friend last night and we totally hit it off.
It’s like we have known each other all of our lives.
Meet My new brother, the real StormTrooper TK-241.
(Luckily TK-241 was never at his post, on on the Death Star, When Luke & Han unexpectedly Showed up on that fateful day to rescue the Princess.
He actually lived to see another day not being at his post but then got transferred off the Death Star to a distant Star System when he was discovered missing. The irony is that he out lived the Death Star and the Empire & is now looking for work.)
lol anyway.
Even though we are on the opposite sides of the political spectrum, we discovered that we are more the same than different.
We both want to help our people.
I can’t wait for you to meet my new friend TK-241! by @weaverdavide

Thirty years ago, I almost died in a fire.

Thirty years ago, I fought to breathe again after drowning in thick smoke from a two-alarm fire in Soulard that was set by an Arsonist.

Thirty years ago, after three consecutive emergency surgeries and skin grafts covering much of my body, doctors told my parents that I was finally beginning to stabilize.

I had suffered burns over more than 70% of my body, including second-, third-, and fourth-degree burns.

Thirty years ago, doctors told my parents I would probably never fully use my hands again and might never walk without assistance.

Today, 30 years and 25 surgeries later, I am incredibly grateful to be alive and to share this planet with all of you.

Every day is a gift. Every moment matters.

As we all face challenges in our own lives, I hope we can continue to find ways to encourage, support, and uplift one another.

Here’s to 30 years of loving life.

Peace and love to you all. ❤️ by @weaverdavide

Offering up a shout out to @artfusionstl on the eve of its closing party for “Art on the Landing” , a visual arts exhibition featuring over 30 St. Louis artists curated by @weaverdavide & @studiotolentino

This community event takes place tomorrow, Friday, June 26th from 6-9pm. It features entertainment by @modularmobb on the first floor and @stlvintagenightfest on the second floor. Door charge is $10 all the money raised goes directly to @modularmobb @stlvintagenightfest , and future @artfusionstl programs!

I love that all entities involved take a collaborative, community approach to art, and i hope you can stop by and check it out!

I want to take a second to mention Davide’s organizing ventures; his commitment to the arts over the years & enthusiasm for this new venture is inspiring!

Davide Weaver-
In 2000, he co-founded ArtDimensions.
In 2003, he formed the Taste of St. Louis.
In 2007, he co-founded 2720 Cherokee Performing Arts Center
In 2009, he started the international Arts program with Indonesia
In 2013, he co-founded the St. Louis World’s Fair Heritage festival in Forest Park
And finally, in 2023,he co-founded ArtFusion Gallery on the historic Laclede’s landing

I also want to mention @studiotolentino ‘s equally impressive commitment to the arts including becoming an indispensable member of Art Dimensions in 2002 through its over decade-long run. Since 2002, he has been curating shows & recruiting phenomenal artists; his process contextualized by his deep understanding of how to connect with the local community and the art world at large. Through it all, he has sustained a prolific and dedicated personal art practice. Among many other ventures, he is also known for co-founding the well known & well respected Screwed Arts Collective, an artist collective and studio on Cherokee street.

Thanks for listening to me gush and hope to see you tomorrow!
