From 7:30 to 3:30 Monday through Friday, I am responsible for the academic, physical, emotional, and social well-being of 20 children who are not legally my own. Being a Kindergarten teacher has brought me so much joy and I love knowing I can have a profound impact on my community by serving in this way. Teaching does, however, come with stressful situations that cause me to bring my work home beyond “work hours”, so I HAVE to practice self-care! My teenage daughter (a.k.a. My Broke Bestie) and I love to do face masks and foot baths! Every Fall, I introduce my students to Osmo using Osmo Words. We start Kindergarten learning our letters and sounds in Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and in Wilson Fundations, so this game is a perfect way to allow students to demonstrate what they know in a game-like format! This game also allows students to work on beginning, medial, or final sounds based on their diverse learning needs. The best part is that you can add in your own images to support ELLs, students with special needs, or just fun images to make it more engaging! Once students understand how to play the game, they can play alone or with a partner. @playosmo #osmoambassador by @weaverj5
