An AI-generated version of Chris Pelkey addressed the man convicted of killing him and the judge openly praised the video before imposing a 10½ year sentence

But Chris never wrote those words. His sister did.

An Arizona appeals court has now upheld the conviction but thrown out the sentence, ruling that the AI video was unreliable and crossed a line. The defendant will be resentenced.
