Resilience and grit. You only know how much you’ve got when you have to dig deep and find out.

August has been a month of hospital visits, setbacks, stress, pressure and then yesterday part of my boiler exploded and there’s water everywhere. Oh and a surprise £8k legal bill 🫠

Somehow, I’ve not cried. I’ve dug deep and cracked on. And I’ve ran - it’s helped clear my mind and made me realise that this month is just a blur that will be forgotten soon enough.

For the past year I’ve been training to be a coach and I’m almost ready to graduate. It’s very exciting.

I can’t wait to pass on the experience of a ten year calamity of a career and the lessons of 20 years running my own businesses with varying degrees of success.

Too hot. Too tired. Too dehydrated.

All you can do is turn up and put in the miles.

14 months of planning and change is coming to fruition. Terrifying. Scary.

But as they say, the things that scare us most often lead to the greatest growth.

Decent result for England tonight.

I’ve seen LOADS of people in the Euro 96... correction, France 98 England shirt which is my all time favourite - I wish I still had it.

The only photo I’ve got is this from @northumbriauni when I was a fresh faced happy and optimistic 18 year old.

Morning 10k done. Felt knackered, bit of pre workout down me and got my quickest 5k of the year and third quickest 10k in 4 years.

THAT IS NOT THE HIGHLIGHT!

I saw a horse in disguise as a zebra. I think it must have been going to a party. Cute. Just like me.

I’ve watched for a few weeks as @pinzain_mcr has been completed and having never had Burmese food before really wanted to give it a try.

The food was great. Banana rice with curry and (the most tender) beef was great. The Thai chicken satay had a nice kick to it.

There’s nothing but great food at the bottom of Oldham Road. I’m yet to be disappointed.

When you’re one of the top food and drink influencers (in my house) it’s only natural to go to the best spots first.

@gulf_mcr opened yesterday and I’ve been today with @lorrainetfitzpatrick - what a lovely place. We didn’t get a selfie, we can correct that next time.

Interior is lovely, the coffee is great, and the staff are friendly. With Arabian music and scents in the air it felt authentic and classy. Just like me.

Well worth a visit - I will be back.

The last photo is how I really felt… but very happy all considered. Second quickest 10k since 2017. Managed tiredness well and finished stronger than I ever have.
