🐻🌲🍂 NOW CASTING: BEAR 🍂🌲🐻

The filmmakers behind BEAR and Casting Director Andrew Hunter @rewhunter are officially seeking submissions for an upcoming SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget short film.

A photographer nearing the end of an artist residency in rural Montana is caught off guard by the surprise arrival of her devoted boyfriend. As the two reconnect in the wilderness, they find themselves at a quiet crossroads in love, identity, and the future they imagined together.

💌 Comment “BEAR” below and we’ll send you the link to submit.

📍 Centennial Valley, Montana
📅 Shoots September 25–27, 2026
🎬 SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget
🎥 Travel & Lodging Provided
💵 $300/day Guaranteed

CANYON
Woman, 25–35, All Ethnicities
A New York City photographer near the end of an artist’s residency in rural Montana. Intelligent and creatively ambitious. She is a quietly internal soul who finds herself at a spiritual crossroads. Canyon loves Alex genuinely but finds herself moving away from him and disconnected. Physically she should feel at home in a landscape, in love with the wild wilderness. You believe she would carry a large format camera up a mountain alone simply for the love of the game.

ALEX
Man, Early to Mid 30s, All Ethnicities
Canyon’s partner, who has surprised her by showing up at the residency unannounced. Alex is warm, devoted, and quietly devastating in his sincerity. His faith in Canyon, in their relationship, in things working out, is total. He’s not naive. He loves her enough to keep showing up even when part of him already knows. Should feel like someone you root for even as you understand why she can’t choose him.
