'Saab 900 Turbo Aero' by Johan Wedenström

Explore the Saab collection at 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝𝟏𝟎𝟎.𝐜𝐨.𝐮𝐤

Captured by @wedenstrom, the #Saab900 is a front-engined, front-wheel-drive hatchback with a longitudinally mounted, 45-degree slanted, inline four-cylinder engine, double wishbone front suspension and beam-axle rear suspension.

Pictured here at the #SaabMuseum is a #900TurboAero. Powered by a 160 bhp 2-litre 16 valve turbocharged inline-4, this Aero model features a more aggressive aerodynamics package and 3-spoke wheels that are now synonymous with Saabs of this era. by @wedenstrom

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Raced by #StigBlomqvist and #BjörnCederberg in the 1979 29th International #SwedishRally, the 99 was Saab's last factory rally car. The #Saab99Turbo was one of the first 'family cars' to be fitted with a turbo after the 1962-63 Oldsmobile Turbo Jetfire; other contemporary turbocharged automobiles were 'specialised' vehicles and were difficult to drive. Popular Mechanics lists the #Saab99 Turbo as number two on its Top Ten list of turbocharged cars of all time.
