Mother’s Day is coming…need a cute and (relatively) mess free activity?

Our class made these little cards thanks to @twinklaustralia.
Our little ones are growing so fast that it’s always nice to remember how little they once were 🥰

The clay necklaces were quick and easy to make and developed their fine motor skills.

Skills developed:
⭐️ Rolling
⭐️Threading

Most of all they loved choosing the colours of their necklace beads for their Mummy’s.

What to do:
⭐️Polymer clay (you can get it from @spotlightstores ), roll into balls, poke a hole in the middle using a skewer and bake for 30 mins at 130 degrees.
⭐️Once baked thread onto necklace wire or string.

To make a simpler version of this necklace… use pasta as the necklace beads and wool/string.

What are you creating for Mother’s Day? Comment below 🥰

Is there anything better than getting outside for some nature play?

The dry season is finally here in Darwin… ☀️

Rain, Hail or Shine…there is simply nothing better than letting your little one explore the textures and smells of the outdoors.

So I encourage you to all get outside and explore your backyard today… your little ones will love it ❤️

Where are you going to go this weekend with your little one, comment below I’d love to know.

Water painting 💦

On a hot, sunny day is there anything better than water play.

What do you need for this activity:
💦 water
🥣 bowl
🎨 paintbrush

This allows your little one to develop:
⭐️ fine motor skills (pencil grip and control)
⭐️ confidence (as it dries quickly so no need to worry about mistakes)
⭐️ creativity (they can create whatever they want)
⭐️open ended play

This activity will keep your little one entertained for a long time, giving you time to enjoy that cuppa … hot ☕️ for once 😂

❤️ share this post with a friend who could use a little bit of time to enjoy that hot cuppa ☕️

Colour exploration 🎨

Such and fun easy activity that lets your little one explore the world around them.

This is a fun colour exploration activity without the mess 🎨 🙌🏻

We used out connetix tiles for this. I could speak all day about how amazing these tiles are ❤️

What to do:
- grab a blue tile and get your child to look through it… what do they see?
- grab a yellow tile and get your child to look through it … what do they see?
- stick the blue and yellow tile together and now get your child to look through it … what do they see?

Through play and hands on learning your child is learning about colour mixing. 💙💛💚

The best part of this activity is the learning is concrete as your little one is making the connections themselves.

Happy Earth Day!

Let's explore and look after our beautiful planet.

I encourage you to:
- go on that camping trip
- splash in those puddles
- spend the day outside
- go on adventures in the bush
- take a bike ride through the forest

And, while you do these things, talk about the things that you see, hear and smell with your little one.

Let's 'Restore Our Earth' and protect it for our little ones futures.
- If you see some litter pop it in the bin
- Plant a tree
- Make a bird feeder
- Recycle your rubbish in your home.

Share below what you have done to protect the Earth for your little ones future.
