Shorter days don’t have to mean shorter runs. 🔦

But they might mean it’s time to get your lighting situation sorted.

With two night races on her calendar, Jenna tested the Olight Oclip 2 Pro and Oclip 2 Ultra. These tiny clip lights offer adjustable beams and a strong, locking clip that keeps the light where she puts it.

Her review covers:
🔦 Brightness and lighting options for after-dark miles
🔄 An adjustable head and rotating clip to aim the beam
💰 The price tag and controls that might take some practice

Read Jenna’s full review at WeeViews to see whether either light belongs in your running kit. Link in bio!

One narrow foot, one wide foot, and 70 combined miles. Both testers agreed that fit was the Lems ZenSpeed+’s biggest win. 👣

This $175 low-drop trainer pairs a roomy toe box with secure heel and midfoot lockdown, then adds a firm, ground-connected ride and an outsole ready for wet pavement and crushed gravel.

Read the full multi-tester review by @dlmoore101 and @abigaildlock to find out if the 10% PEBA midsole provided bounce and if the 5 mm drop actually feels like 5 mm.

Four Hobby Joggers took on UTMB’s OCC. Only one made it to the finish. 🏁

In the newest episode of The Hobby Jogger, Casey, Rob, David and Jason peel off the proverbial OCC Band-Aid and revisit a day filled with steep climbs, stomach trouble, a failing knee, aggressive cutoffs and alpine beauty dramatic enough to make them consider doing it all over again.

David recounts the relentless climb that broke runners one switchback at a time—and the late-night finish in Chamonix that delivered more energy than he had experienced at any other ultramarathon. Meanwhile, the others unpack where their races unraveled and why OCC still left them with unfinished business.

And because no international race recap is complete without a photographic investigation into European urinal technology, swipe to the final slide for Casey’s contribution to international travel journalism. 🫡

Seventy-eight miles of roots, rocks, rain, pavement, deep sand—and one 102-degree 50K attempt. Scott Hilton did not give the Tarkine Trail Devil 3 an easy entrance exam. 😅

This versatile trail trainer pairs a responsive, nimble ride with a roomy, foot-shaped toe box and a new Vibram Megagrip outsole that handled wet trails far better than its predecessor.

But the devil is in the details. Scott also encountered poor moisture drainage, a toe box that welcomed fine sand a little too warmly and enough underfoot flexibility to feel larger rocks without a protective plate.

So, where does this lesser-known Australian trail shoe shine, and who should think twice before spending nearly $200?

Martín Martínez Díaz started running almost by accident in 2022. Then he discovered the mountains and found freedom, happiness, incredible places, and a community along the way. ⛰️🇪🇸

The Alicante-based runner was selected by @asicsrunning for its Fuji Trail Adventure in 2025, an experience that led to months of preparation for the 100K PIUT in Austria. He has also completed the formidable Travesera Picos de Europa, an accomplishment he remains especially proud of.

Now, Martín is tackling TORX 100 as the first step toward an even bigger dream: the @tordesgeants .

Beyond the trails, he directs a company, has two teenage children, and has been with his partner since they were 16. He also enjoys reading, music, recording his adventures and spending time with Dina. Peep the curly-coated scene-stealer in slide three. 🐶

His quote on the second slide translates to:

“I’m a simple person who doesn’t go to the mountains in search of fast times, but to enjoy them, meet people, and learn their stories.”

Thanks @yosoy_trail_runner , for the reminder that a finish time doesn’t even come close to telling half of the story.

The results are in! 🏁

While training for a fall half marathon, Rising Star Taylor Marton @617_rnnr wanted a simpler way to carry his race-day gear without reaching for a belt or vest.

He tested four men’s running half tights from Path Projects, Terignota, Hikebeast and For the Run across easy runs, workouts and long runs.

Taylor compared:

📱 Phone and fuel security
💧 Soft-flask capacity
🏃 Bounce and pocket access
🔥 Comfort during sweaty runs
🩳 Fit, coverage and chafing (very important detail)

Each pair brought something different to the starting line: maximum storage, meticulous organization, surprising value or Taylor’s overall race-day pick.

Running has a sneaky habit of humbling us. Sometimes through a finish line, sometimes through a pace alert and occasionally through the radical discovery that food is, in fact, useful. 😅

For Part 2 of “I Used to Think…”, four runners are sharing the beliefs that experience eventually rewrote.

Their reflections challenge who gets to call themselves a runner, how we define a successful run, what properly fueling our bodies can unlock and what we might miss when the numbers become the entire story.

Read through the insights from Rachel W., Quin J., Josie R. and Scott H.

Then complete the sentence for yourself:

Rain delay. Route change. Two barrier-breaking wins around Mont Blanc. 🏔️

After storms pushed the 2026 UTMB start back two hours and wet conditions forced a late course reroute, runners still faced roughly 107 miles and 32,000 feet of climbing through France, Italy and Switzerland.

Ben Dhiman took the lead before 40K and never gave it back, returning to Chamonix in 18:16:29—the fastest time ever run at UTMB. Because the altered route bypassed the exposed Pyramides Calcaires section, however, it does not count as an official course record.

The chase behind him delivered its own history. Baptiste Chassagne held off a charging Caleb Olson by just 46 seconds as all three men broke 19 hours—a mark no man had previously reached at UTMB.

In the women’s race, Blandine L’Hirondel gradually pulled away from UTMB debutant Rachel Entrekin to win in 21:54:49, becoming the first woman to break 22 hours. The victory also made L’Hirondel only the second woman to win all three UTMB World Series Finals races: OCC, CCC and UTMB.

Entrekin held on for second, while Emily Schmitz completed a huge second-half surge to finish just 1:34 behind her in third.

Swipe through for the top 10 men and women from one exceptionally speedy trip around Mont Blanc. ➡️
