🌟 3 cities and 1 million registrations: a look back at the Pope's visit to France

@notredamedeparis. @stadefrance. Place de la Concorde. Lourdes. Metz.

5 iconic locations, each with very different audiences: volunteers, media, liturgical teams, pilgrims and the general public. Each one called for a tailored and secure set-up, with #WeezCrew for accreditation, #WeezTicket for ticketing and #WeezAccess for access control. And figures to match the occasion:

πŸͺͺ 70,000 people accredited and security-screened

πŸ“² 700+ access control devices

✨ 800,000 people gathered for the papal Mass on Place de la Concorde

πŸ‘₯ 80 team members, including 5 project managers

At the accreditation centres, a single scan of the voucher was enough to pull up the person's profile and print a tear-proof badge on the spot. At the Stade de France, 80,000 seats were mapped and numbered individually, with our ticketing connected to the stadium's own access control system. At the Concorde, 18 gates were monitored in real time from our dashboards.

πŸ’™ A historic moment for hundreds of thousands of people and one that will stay with our teams for years to come! by @weezevent

πŸ“ 540 events, 120 days on-site.

Once again this season, our teams packed their bags for events across Europe and Canada.

And behind those deployments:
🀝 500 crew members
πŸ‘₯ 1,000+ work shifts covered during our busiest week
πŸ“± 15,500+ devices simultaneously in use

πŸ‘€ Most of the time behind the scenes, you may have spotted them at cashless support points or carrying cases packed with our devices.

But their role goes far beyond that: supporting organisers with the key operations that help events run as planned, from ticketing and access control to cashless and accreditation.

πŸ’™ For their commitment, their quick response to the unexpected and their energy throughout the season, a huge thank you to all our teams on the ground.

Here’s a glimpse of our teams in action πŸ‘‡

β˜€οΈ Summer Recap #5: Switzerland πŸ‡¨πŸ‡

A small country, several languages and about as many festival cultures. A Swiss season means moving between the French-speaking west, the German-speaking side and a few mountain tops in between.

This summer, our teams were at:

πŸŽͺ @paleofestival
🎷 @montreuxjazzfestival
🎸 @festineuch
🌲 @chantdugros
⛰️ @gurtenfestival_official
πŸ”οΈ @burningmountain
🍷 @estivaleopenair
πŸͺ© Higher Event x @circolocozurich
🎺 @buskersbern
🀹 @plagesixpompes
🎢 @thunfest
And many more...

It was also a season of new tools on site:

πŸ‘₯ More and more organisers running their staff and volunteers with #WeezCrew
πŸ’³ #WeezPay now embeds SoftPOS, which lets us put faster, more capable devices in the hands of bar teams
πŸ” A new way for kitchens & bars to automatically receive tickets where they need to
🧾 And fixed tills for the events that need them

This was also the first full summer with our Zurich office open alongside Lausanne, giving German-speaking organisers a team right next door.

πŸ’™ A huge thank you to our project managers and crew members who criss-crossed the country all season.

And to every organiser who trusted us again this summer: thank you for having us alongside you.

β˜€οΈ Summer Recap #3: Germany πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Germany's festival season is its own beast. Spread across the country, from open fields in the south to industrial sites in the Ruhr, with weather that can go from scorching to stormy in the same weekend. This summer, our teams were on the ground at:

🎧 @pollerwiesen
πŸ’¦ @splashfestival
🌞 @happinessfestival
🎢 @lollapaloozade
🌈 @aboutyoupangeafestival
🌊 @buchtdertraeumerfestival
πŸ”₯ @nibirii
🌸 @superbloomde
😊 @gluecksgefuehle.festival
And many many more...

From load-in to last scan, our crews kept ticketing, cashless and access running across every site. A growing presence in a market where the festival landscape just keeps getting bigger.

πŸ’™ Thank you to every organiser who had us on board this summer. And to the teams on the ground: well-earned rest incoming.

β˜€οΈ Summer Recap #2: France πŸ‡«πŸ‡·

40Β°C weekends. Local authority bans landing days, sometimes hours, before doors opened. Local funding tighter than last year.

Some organisers had to stop. Others adapted.

They rewrote run sheets overnight, added shade and water points, reshuffled crews. Always with our team by their side at:

🀘 @hellfestopenair
🎸 @rockenseine
🌾 @vieillescharruesofficiel
🍻 @vandbfest
πŸ¦‹ @papillons_de_nuit
🌹 @rose.festival
🌊 @plageselectro
πŸ‡ @goldencoast_festival
πŸƒ @welovegreen
and many more!

πŸ’™ A huge thank you to our project managers and on-site teams. From Clichy to every corner of the country, this summer meant early load-ins, (very) late load-outs, and thousands of kilometres in between.

And to every organiser who trusted us again this summer, including the ones who had to make the hardest call there is. We know what that one cost.

β˜€οΈ Summer Recap #1: Belgium πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ

For a small country, Belgium knows how to do festival season at scale.

Long, hot days, countless kilometres between Flanders and Wallonia, and some of Europe’s biggest festivals packed into just a few weeks:

πŸ¦‹ @tomorrowland
🎸 @rockwerchterfestival
πŸ”₯ @lesardentes
🀘 @graspopmetalmeeting
🎡 @dourfestival
⛓️ @alcatrazfestival
πŸŒ… @sunrisefestivalbe
🌱 @festivaldranouter
🌊 @wecandancefest
πŸŽ‰ @kampingkitschclub
And many more...

Our Antwerp office had its hands full preparing for event after event and keeping everything moving across the country throughout a busy Belgian summer.

πŸ’™ A huge thank you to all our project managers and crew who made it happen, festival after festival.

And to every organiser who trusted us again this summer: thank you for having us alongside you.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡ We’ve just opened a second Swiss office, in Zurich.

Lausanne was the first. Zurich makes two, and the reason isn’t just logistics...

We build technology, but preparing an event stays a human job. A venue planning its season, a sports club rethinking access, a conference two weeks out: it all goes faster with someone sitting across the table.
That’s why we keep local teams close to the organisers we work with!

Luca and Fabio are based there. Drop them a message, and come talk your event through. They’ll provide the coffee. β˜•οΈ

πŸŽ™οΈ Behind the Blue #4: 50,000 people a day β€” and he doesn’t have to be there.

That’s what Rudolf, our Country Manager for Austria & Germany, is proudest of: he has built a team independent enough to run productions the size of @novarockfestival on its own.

πŸ“ˆ He joined us as a Client Success Manager in 2022. He stepped up as a team lead, and since 2026 he runs the whole Berlin office.

Fun fact: he allegedly sings. Rudi, we’ll ask for confirmation during our next team gathering. πŸ‘€

🧣 What if the one accessory every supporter brings could also open the stadium gates?

For the start of the new season, @dfco_officiel season-ticket holders entered the stadium by scanning… their scarf.

πŸ’‘ By integrating an NFC chip into the club scarf, together with DFCO, we turned an iconic supporter item into an access pass and a payment method inside the Gaston-Gérard stadium.

Placed at the heart of the pre-match ritual, the solution naturally encourages every season-ticket holder to wear their club colours from the moment they arrive, turning the stands red and white from the warm-up onwards. by @weezevent

πŸ“½οΈ Another two weeks, another rewind.

Tickets scanned, wristbands tapped, bars running: our usual summer routine across Europe. 68 events, 2.8M attendees, 9 countries.

From build-up to breakdown, our teams were there to make sure ticketing, access, and cashless went smoothly.
