The other night we were having a conversation about college and I just kept looking at him and saying to myself, "Wow he is really an intelligent, mature young man". I started having all these vivid dreams that night about him as a little boy...memories of him in daycare, elementary school, and all the little arts and crafts he used to make.

When I woke up I felt a little sad and nostalgic for the little boy who is no longer in front of me, but so incredibly proud of the young man we raised. There are alot of challenges he will face as a young black man, but I know that with GOD, FAITH and PRAYER in his life, he can do ALL THINGS 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 #BLESSED&CHOSEN

I’ll probably bombard y'all with a million photos later 📸🤣, but this video says it all. That deep breath he took was a huge sigh of relief for our whole family. Every late night and sacrifice was 100% worth it for this exact moment. My Heart is full 💙💙💙!!! To say I'm proud is an understatement! 🎓👏🏽

I always knew he was a dedicated student-athlete, but seeing him receive the highest honor his school gives out today—The Christian Character Award—warmed my heart in a way I can’t even explain. To hear his teachers speak so highly of his integrity, leadership, and how he moves through life completely melted me. I’ve known since the day he was born that he was special and called for a greater purpose. So incredibly proud of the human being you are! 🏆✨ #ProudParent #CharacterMatters #NextGeneration #StudentAthlete

"You're worthy of expectations". His father said that to him last night after a tough loss and unsatisfactory performance. He may not understand what his father meant in that moment because he's feeling some pressure and not confident at times. But once he understands this, the light will shine bright! Love you kid! Now let's go play some basketball! by @weezypope75

David was asked to present a Welcome Speech for Grandparent's Day last Friday at his school. Those that really know him, know that he's a pretty quiet kid and doing this was out of his comfort zone. I was proud to see him come out of his shell and embrace something that he normally wouldn't want to do. He's becoming a young man and as a mom I love it and hate it at the same time 🥹😫💙. taken in The King's Christian Academy by @weezypope75

Yall...
Let's play a game. One of these facts is not true. Can you guess which one?
Fact #1 : Carbon Monoxide detector goes off at 3:30am scaring the sh*t outta us
Fact # 2 : Fire fighters come in PAJAMAS and walk all through our house with their judging eyes 👀🤣 (apparently we woke them up too 🤷🏾‍♀️)
Fact # 3 : David's school uniform is a tad bit wrinkly
Fact # 4 : David was on time for school
Fact # 5 : We had to buy him WAWA for lunch
Fact # 6 : We all tired AF 😐🫩

You guessed it! Fact # 4...we were late AF on his first day of his last year of high school🤣🤣🤣! But there are no old ass carbon monoxide detectors in the world that was gonna stop us from getting his ass outta this house and back to school! IFYKYK 🤣🤣🤣! Have a great year Kid! We love you!

The big 17 though???
I can not even put into words the Love I have for you and the joy (and headache🤣) you bring to my life. You make such an impact with everyone that meets you by just being yourself. That goofy, shy, sweet little kid has turned into such a smart, driven, humble and kindhearted young man. This year has not been kind to you and yet you still keep smiling that billion dollar smile and never stop working towards your dreams. Happy Birthday Kiddo! I pray that you have the most amazing day! by @weezypope75

My MCM ❤️

Listennnnnnn, being a sports mom is not for the weak and to be honest, he has gotten cussed out a couple of times recently 🤣. He's physically/mentally tired, has had some good and bad games, and has had to accept all kinds of constructive criticism lately. I wonder sometimes is it all too much for him and one day will he just give it all up. But it's days like today where he keeps pushing and working when no one is watching, that I admire his work ethic and know that he hasn't stopped believing in himself. No one except us (his parents) know how much work he puts in every day and what he has been putting his body through (by his choice).
So @shiftyy_dave, I just wanted to let you know that no matter how much I fuss or get on you, I will never stop supporting you or believing in you! Keep working! I see you! by @weezypope75

I am not OK yall 🥹🥹🥹. Im a little sad he decided to cut his locs shorter (first time ever cutting his hair), but I'm happy that he's happy. He says they were starting to get in the way when he was balling, so I respect his decision. But it makes me realize that my little boy is growing up and my time with him (and his locs) is getting shorter 😔. Still a handsome kid though ❤️ by @weezypope75
