I’m delighted and honoured to share that I’ll be joining the Jette Parker Artist Program as a conductor and répétiteur for the next two seasons! It’s absolutely surreal to me that @royaloperahouse is going to be my home base for the next two years, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me on my musical journey, from those I have learnt from during my formative years in Hong Kong, to all my mentors and friends in the UK who have welcomed me with open arms. I especially have to thank my teachers at the RCS, Martyn Brabbins and @michaelbawtree, for supporting and nurturing me as a conductor in the past two years. I’m so excited to embark on this new chapter and I can’t wait to dive into the most beautiful music and grow musically and artistically! 📸: @oliviadacosta_ by @weggypu
Milestone unlocked: worked on my first Mozart Requiem with the wonderful @royal_northern_sinfonia and chorus! This piece never fails to wrench the gut and I’m super grateful to the players and chorus members of @royal_northern_sinfonia for indulging me in my hell-fire and damnation energy. A big thank you also to @alice.farnham.14 and @timburkemusic for their guidance and to @royalphilsoc WoCo for this invaluable opportunity! 📸: @benhinesphoto by @weggypu
Heart is still full to the brim from the opening night of Pimpinone!! ✨ Thank you to everyone on Team Pimpinone, the musicians of ENO, and especially our two stars @isabeladiazsoprano and @martirosyangr for all the hard work they’ve put into bringing this show to life. I’m so excited for the rest of the run - 1 show down and 6 more to go! Filled with gratitude to make my Royal Opera debut with an incredible team ❤️ by @weggypu
Happy World Opera Day!! After a loooong hiatus from posting I have so many wonderful projects from 2026 to look back on… from finishing up my time on JPAP to now wrapping up Don Giovanni in Cape Town, I’m so lucky to call this beautiful art form my work. A cheeky snap from my last gander in the pit at my beloved RBO ❤️✨ by @weggypu
TNC | OPERA INTERVIEW 2026 The Jette Parker Artists summer performance, accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, saw the star conductors, singers, répétiteurs and directors of the future presented a range of repertoire on the Royal Opera House’s main stage. We spoke with conductor Peggy Wu about being part of this years showcase: Being a conductor and répétiteur does this allow you to build a closer relationship with opera singers? "Absolutely. During studio rehearsals, a conductor has a lot of time to build this relationship, and I really enjoy working one-to-one with singers. In this setting, we can have dramatic and musical discussions that are not always possible in an orchestral rehearsal, and it makes the creative process very interesting. Being a répétiteur is also great for this since one can be on the piano and work with a singer directly - this contact builds the relationship immediately." From uproarious guffaws to heartfelt sobbing, and with some snappiness in between, we shared our vows before our dearest friends and family on the beautiful lake @brindos.anglet. We chose to get married on the longest day of the year so every moment with my loveliest @weggypu could be filled with sunshine and joy. But we also chose to stand by each other even when the days are short and the lake is foggy and still. ❤️❤️ --- Venue @brindos.anglet Wedding Planner @wonderlustevents Photography @couplet.photo Videographer @lesvaques Floral Design @tepeesauvage HMUA @hkmuaveron Rentals & Decor @ourfabulousthings Stationery @aisling_erin_design Candles @candle_flair Wedding Dress @winkatelier Groom’s Suit @tuxluxlondon Jewellery @geminiclay_studio & @wink_atelier Wedding Scent @rahasyafragrances Piano Rental - Nesprias Transportation @autocaresdavid by @weggypu

At our wedding ceremony, I gave the honourable @drewlexmond, our celebrant, a card containing the following to read out: "On Saturday the 20th of April, 2024, Peggy had a full day of rehearsals - she was on her first ever show at the ROH. That morning, Edmond went to purchase some flowers without calling ahead - thankfully the florists were feeling generous and patient that day and arranged a beautiful bouquet for him. In the afternoon, during her break, Peggy went to Zara to buy a white cape-suit. A few hours later, at the last break of her rehearsal, she changed into an all-white outfit to the surprise of everyone in the room. At 7pm sharp, she left for Marylebone Town Hall, where Edmond had been patiently waiting. Despite being 10 minutes late to the last session that day, Peggy and Edmond still said their vows in front of an actual celebrant, and signed their marriage into law with their witnesses being their photographer and Becca, their assistant planner. Only their colleagues at the Opera House and at Autogen, and Matthew Guest who was subletting their flat at the time, know about this, but they have been happily married for over a year now. Please clap." With the cat out of the bag, here are some of my fav photos with the wonderful @weggypu on that very special day 🥰 by @weggypu

What does a Jennifer Lopez film have in common with a 300 year old opera? 🤔 According to our Director Sophie Gilpin and Conductor Peggy Wu, fans of Maid in Manhatten will love Pimpinone - a comic opera about Vespetta, a spirited chambermaid who marries her way out of servitude, but her master Pimpinone gets more than he bargained for. Full of faboulous fashion, witty satire and surprises, Pimpinone is on stage in our Linbury Theatre until 17 May 🎥 @sophie_director and @weggypu #TheRoyalOpera #Opera #Pimpinone #RoyalBalletAndOpera #Telemann by @weggypu
