Hey fam, my name is Lea’auta Dreyanne Malietoa - but most know me as Drey ✨

This page has been a long time coming - something I’ve wanted to create for some time but never quite knew where to start. But here we are… doing it anyway. Because sometimes you don’t know until you just start, stepping outside your comfort zone despite the fear of failure - even if it’s not perfect, just try it anyway.

Rugby Union has always been my safe place, a part of who I am, a part of my identity and my passion. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing this game through many different roles, giving me perspective through a broader lens, connection, and a deep respect for the people who make it what it is and those who paved the way before us.

We Give A Ruck is a space to empower girls and women in the game, embrace culture, connection and community, and elevate the legends behind the scenes.

I truly feel there isn’t a space quite like this in our sport, and I’m excited for this to live as its own platform - a place to share, interact, celebrate people, and continue advocating for the growth of Rugby Union 🏉

If you love the game too and would like to help I’d really appreciate if you could repost, share and show your support - even more so if you’d follow and join us for this journey 🥹

More than a game 🤝🏽🤎

Happy NAIDOC Week. May we continue to listen, learn and celebrate First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to Culture, Community and Country. 🖤❤️💛

We would’ve loved to feature even more voices, but we’re grateful to have caught up with a handful of players during the Buildcorp Australian Schools & Junior Rugby Union Championships on the Sunshine Coast.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to proudly share their name, club and Mob with us. Your stories, culture and pride are an important part of our game, and we’re privileged to help share them.

Proudly celebrating the incredible people, culture and community that make our game stronger. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾🤎

20 weeks ago, I took a chance on an idea that had been sitting on my heart for a long time, not knowing where it would lead.

We Give A Ruck was created to advocate for girls’ and women’s Rugby Union while celebrating the culture, community and connections that make our game so special.

Because change starts with us.

Because the girls’ and women’s game deserves to be seen.

Because culture and community are at the heart of everything we do.

Because when we support one another, we grow together.

Because the next generation deserves it to be easier.

Because you can’t be what you can’t see.

Today, almost four months in, We Give A Ruck has surpassed 2 million views. But more importantly, it’s become so much more than I ever imagined. Every follow, share, collaboration, conversation and message has shown me that there are so many people who genuinely give a ruck about growing our game.

This is only the beginning.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this vision from day one, and to everyone who’s joined along the way. Together, we’re building something bigger than highlights and scores. We’re creating a space that celebrates the game, the people, the culture and the community that make Rugby Union what it is.

If you love the game too and would like to show your support, please follow the journey, share and repost. Every interaction helps us reach more people, celebrate more stories, inspire the next generation, and continue building a stronger rugby community together. Your support never goes unnoticed.

More than a game 🤝🏾🤎

Rugby is a universal language. The emojis just haven't caught up yet. 😂🏉

Whether you're playing in the desert, on a muddy pitch or anywhere in between, some rugby moments need their own emoji! 🌍

What's missing from the list?👇
