5:30 AM home gym club. 👊

I've realized that if I wait for life to slow down before I train, it's probably not happening.

Work. Family. Projects. Responsibilities. There's always something.

So I'm getting back to making the early mornings mine.

Walk downstairs. Turn the lights on. Train.

Then go be present for everything else the day brings.

That's one of the things I love most about having a home gym - it's always there when I'm ready to put in the work.

Apparently even my dumbbells have assigned parking. 😂

Home gym owners know the real challenge isn't always getting the equipment you want...

It's figuring out where the hell you're going to put it.

The 90s and 100s were taking up valuable floor space, so I started storing them underneath my rack.

One problem...

I still had to get them out every time I trained.

And that's eventually how Weight Skates happened.

Funny how solving one annoying problem can turn into a business.

It always starts the same way…

“I'll just get the essentials.”

Then you need a rack.

Then dumbbells.

Then a bench.

Then another machine.

Then you're measuring every remaining square inch trying to figure out what else you can fit. 😂

Eventually I started inventing things just to make my own setup work better.

The best thing about having a home gym isn't the equipment.

It's removing excuses.

No drive.
No waiting.
No worrying about who's using what.

Walk downstairs and train.

And the longer I've had mine, the more I've realized that every little improvement that removes friction makes it easier to stay consistent.

That's really what I'm trying to build - both with my gym and with Weight Skates.

Make training easier to start. Then put in the work.

Home gym owners know exactly how this game goes 😂

It starts with a bench and a few dumbbells. Then somehow you're rearranging an entire room trying to squeeze in one more piece of equipment...

In my case, I eventually started inventing things to make more room.

No regrets.

What's the piece of equipment you couldn't live without that officially took your home gym too far?

I've actually got my eyes on a few things on marketplace as we speak.. don't tell my wife 😂

Every product starts somewhere.

Mine started with frustration.

The first version wasn't pretty. It wasn't polished. It just solved a problem.

Then came another version. And another. And another.

Every change made it a little better.

I'm still improving Weight Skates today, and I hope I never stop.

When I started building my home gym, I thought the goal was to buy more equipment.

Now I think the goal is much simpler: build a space that makes you want to train.

Every change I've made has been about removing little frustrations and making workouts easier to start.

That's the mindset behind Weight Skates.

Not because I needed another product...because I wanted a better place to train.

Who would have thought a piece of scrap steel and a vision could turn into one of my greatest assets to simplify my setup?

If someone handed me $500 to improve my home gym today, I probably wouldn't buy another piece of equipment.

I'd make my current setup work better.

Better organization. Better layout. Better flow.

The best gyms aren't always the biggest, they're the ones that make you want to train.

Started from the bottom now we here 💪

Weight Skates literally started at the bottom of a scrap pile and now we're here: shipping from coast to coast - and even overseas somehow.

What began as a way to simplify my setup of heavy dumbbells in my home gym has morphed into a business that has helped other gym owners optimize their space.

We have a long way to go to get to the "top" but I'm enjoying the climb and love building it up brick by brick 🧱
