Weinlese 2025 🍇✂️♥️

Eine meiner liebsten Wochen im Jahr: it‘s harvest time, baby 🤩

Das dritte Jahr in Folge durfte ich wieder eine Woche lang bei @weingutpeterwagner mithelfen, die Trauben zum richtigen Zeitpunkt in den Keller zu kriegen. Auch wenn es bestimmte Konstanten gibt (unfassbar gutes Essen, schöne Gespräche mit bekannten Gesichtern zwischen den Reben, lange Tage), ist jedes Jahr doch immer ein wenig anders. Dieses Jahr hat definitiv der Regen für etwas mehr Anspannung gesorgt 😅
Zum Schluss ist alles gut gelaufen: die Trauben sind gesund im Keller, der Kopf durfte mal ein bisschen abschalten, der Körper ordentlich arbeiten und das Herz mit Zufriedenheit, Glücksgefühlen, neuen Erfahrungen und neuen Bekanntschaften wachsen ♥️

Gerhard Eichelmann said “Peter Wagner will be a Very Big One”!
And now a couple of years later this rising star is starting to compete with the best producer on the planet and we´re super excited to be the exclusive importer in Sweden.

It´s a small family-run winery in Oberrotweil (Kaiserstuhl), specializing in the Burgundy varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. The different volcanic soil structures give the wines an unmistakable character. It´s characterized by clarity, freshness, acidity and minerality. Since the soil of his vineyards is the most valuable asset for Peter, he rely on organic fertilizers, such as e.g. horse manure, and the sowing of beneficial grasses and herbs that strengthen soil life and promote biodiversity in the vineyard. New vineyards are planted with vines from France.

Right from the beginning Peter was awarded the highest rating a new winery in Germany can get. He has since made wine on high international level with continuously progress and now he´s on the top shelf, world class wines that often are “mistaken” for top burgundy wines more than 10 times the price – This is one of the rarest value for money i´ve ever came across (please don´t read this Peter;). All the awards and uncountable praises he gets is a result of his hard work, eye for details and fingerspitzengefühl. Today you can find his wines at the best wine establishment around the world with the sharpest sommeliers.

Peter describes his winemaking style as “traditional with a modern orientation.”

Even if there´s many wines in Peter´s portfolio they all have the style in common and that’s elegance, precision, freshness, purity with minerality to die for.

Everything is so neatly balanced, everything is there, nothing is taking over – A clear expression of terroir at its best.

His Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) are amazingly elegant with beautiful integrated oak so it´s no surprise that most blind guesses from winemakers and sommeliers are in Chambolle.
