Honestly, I don't even know how to explain how someone I met online and haven't even met in real life became such an important part of my life. It's actually crazy when I think about it😭

🎬How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a romantic comedy about Andie Anderson, a magazine writer who is assigned to write an article on how to drive a man away in just ten days. To do this, she starts dating a man and intentionally does all the stereotypical things that can ruin a relationship.
The man she chooses is Benjamin Barry, an advertising executive who has made a bet that he can make any woman fall in love with him within ten days to win an important business account. Neither of them knows the other's secret plan.
As Andie tries to push Ben away with increasingly clingy and annoying behavior, Ben stubbornly stays with her because he is trying to win his own bet. Over time, despite their hidden agendas and constant misunderstandings, they begin to genuinely fall for each other. When the truth comes out, both feel betrayed, but they eventually realize their feelings are real and reconcile.

The Shawshank Redemption character Brook Hatlen is an elderly prisoner who has spent about 50 years in Shawshank Prison. He works as the prison librarian and has become completely accustomed to prison life. Shawshank is the only world he knows.
When Brooks is finally granted parole, everyone assumes he should be happy. Instead, he is terrified. He even threatens another inmate with a knife because he doesn't want to leave prison.
After his release, Brooks struggles to adjust to the outside world. The world has changed dramatically during the decades he spent behind bars. He feels lonely, isolated, and unable to fit in. He gets a job, rents a small room, and tries to live normally, but he constantly misses the routine and familiarity of prison.
In a letter to his friends at Shawshank, Brooks explains how overwhelming freedom feels. He famously describes being "institutionalized"—meaning he has become so dependent on prison life that he can no longer function comfortably outside it.
Unable to cope with his loneliness and sense of purposelessness, Brooks eventually dies by suicide, leaving behind the message:
"Brooks was here."
Why Brooks Matters
Brooks' story shows that freedom is not always easy.
