Ert :: Lotus EP (Weirdrum) https://igloomag.com/reviews/ert-lotus-weirdrum #igloomag #reviews @portrhombus "Future garage as a genre has always carried a melancholic undercurrent, rooted in the post-dubstep era, it borrowed the half-tempo swing and emotional weight of UK bass music and stretched it into something more introspective. Lotus takes that lineage and strips it further, removing the dancefloor elements almost entirely and leaving only texture, stutter, and atmosphere." by @weirdrum

Ert - Lotus EP (2026) Ertine Mongush under his alias Ert mostly knows of his sound moves through Future Garage, but in this time it’s a wonderful soft lo-fi IDMish ambient and downtempo, which is constructing compositions where atmosphere, texture, and emotional depth become structural forces rather than decorative layers. The six compositions seem to drift across cold liquid surfaces while fractured percussion, deep reverberations, and atmospheric layers shape a continuous sense of emotional displacement. Subtle beauty pierced by hidden fractures, as though every track carried the possibility of quietly dissolving from within. Out Now! released May 15, 2026 Published by Weirdrum Records.
