POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Brought to you by the thought leaders of Rise Literary, this is radically inspired storytelling from the page to the stage to the screen.

RiseLive is the next phase of what we’re building: a modern matriarchal media company producing, adapting, and showcasing the next era of storytellers—where books are just the beginning.

And it all begins on the RiseLive stage.

Ten speakers. Ten minutes. The next big talk.

From there, we go further: creating platforms for authors, stages for speakers, original literary programming, and TV and film adaptations born from the authors, books, and ideas of Rise Literary.

Ancient storytelling. Modern matriarchy.

Our first talk, with Katie Hendricks, goes live this Thursday.

Welcome to RiseLive. Welcome to the next era of storytelling.

Because there is a better way.
We’re doing it. by @welcometoriselive

At El Roblar Hotel in Ojai, there are two tortoises named Abra and Cadabra. We kept thinking about that all day. About how abracadabra is one of the oldest incantations we have — a belief that what we speak has the power to shape what comes next.

And then we watched it happen. Welcome to RiseLive.

Ten people stood up and told the truth as they know it. Stories that have been lived, carried, wrestled with. And like the tortoises, we’re reminded that what we say doesn’t end in the room. Story becomes legacy.

To everyone who came, who supported, who built this with us — our team, our AV crew, our partners, our friends, the wonderful El Roblar — and especially our speakers…thank you for your voices, your presence, your courage.

You brought the magic into the room.

We say, “Abra.” You say, “Cadabra.” Abracadabra. by @welcometoriselive

Welcome to RiseLive. Join us next Sunday, April 26th at the majestic Hotel El Roblar in Ojai, CA for a new take on storytelling. Ten speakers, ten minutes, the next big talk.

RiseLive is a new stage, built on matriarchal practices of radically inspired storytelling and somatically embodied stage presence. With speakers from film, TV, art, design, and activism - and a midday Magic Hour presented by Magic Hour tea and famed tarologist Angie Banicki, RiseLive isn’t here to offer another how-to. It’s here to ask, why this?

It’s a day of healing, magic, performance, and the best of what makes us human - the stories we have to share.

Go to RiseLive.com to buy tickets (they’re selling fast)! And if you’re in Ojai, use the code LOCALSLOVE for 50% off.

On Sunday, April 26, we gather at the El Roblar Hotel for our first Rise Live. The morning starts with coffee and conversation, then we take our seats.

10 speakers. 10 minutes each.

Writers, artists, advocates, and leaders sharing what they’ve lived, questioned, and come to understand — stories that carry truth in ways we don’t always say directly.

This is Storytelling That Smuggles the Truth.

Midway through, we break for Magic Hour featuring tarot with Angie Banicki before returning to the stage for the second half. We’ll be filming the talks for YouTube, but being in the room is the experience.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, we’d love to have you there.

Welcome to the next big talk! RiseLive is launching in Ojai and you’re invited.

On April 26, we gather for something new — a live speaking series built on the idea that storytelling can carry truth in ways nothing else can.

10 speakers. 10 minutes each. Stories that share what isn’t always easy to say and that ask the questions we’ve been taught to avoid.

The talks will be filmed and shared on YouTube, but the real experience is being in the room at the wonderful Hotel El Roblar.

Some have called it TEDx without the patriarchy. We think of it as a new kind of stage. If this speaks to you, we’d love to have you there. Tickets are limited.

And if you’re an Ojai local (or need a little scratch), use the code LOCALSLOVE for 50% off through Monday!
