one thing about me is that I utterly adore my grandma ♡
95 years young 🎉
~
I feel so extremely grateful for this kind and gentle woman who has taught me so much by the patience and support she models—among her many other incredible qualities. I was delighted to spend the weekend with her: eating piroshkis, visiting the art museum, enjoying wholesome family time, talking about fond memories, and helping her revisit some old quilting projects she’d uncovered. we’re working on a quilt together after I gifted her a journal with a mini-quilted cover I made (my first quilting attempt!). I’m excited for more trips home to continue crafting and enjoying her company. (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ꕤ*.゚

there must be something in the water of Beaver Creek on the ranch where my grandma grew up, and where 96 year-old Uncle Irvin continues to dwell and help maintain. I’m feeling immense honor and gratitude to connect and care for family these days. by @well.dunn

on my birthday I wanted to celebrate and commemorate positive developments made over the course of my 26th year. however, as 2025 draws to a close I admit that it was a year that largely carried anxious, fearful, and hopeless energy on a broader societal scale. and that energy paralyzed me for much of the year. while my previous sentiments still stand: feeling grateful, appreciative, more grounded in community, and proud of some of the things I did for/by myself or with others—
admittedly it felt odd to imagine what people got from my photos and words (if they read them). I’ve gotten to be a really anxious person, and the time we’re living in and this dopamine-machine makes me feel shitty a lot of the time. this year I read and watched one atrocity after another in local/national/global affairs on a daily if not hourly basis. so much darkness was brought into the light for the world—albeit those of us who are chronically online—to see. between all the terrible news, I watched my own frustrations and shortcomings rise to the surface in a time of absolute uncertainty. everything feels out of control and it feels impossible to plan for anything in the long term.

in its own way, that lack of control has been a forced meditation: contentment in the face of change at many different scales. we’re all going through this world in whatever way we can muster and hoping things will get better. I try to contribute to that hope but it doesn’t always feel effective. I try to bring attention to progress being made and action to be taken—hope needs to pair with acknowledgement of what can improve. I often worry that people see my stories as bleak or despairing since I share mostly news and commentary, but when you don’t see me grappling with big sad or scary issues, I’m still finding beauty and appreciation in the day-to-day and alongside those I love and hold dear. I hope my humanity is not forgotten. little moments don’t always feel share-worthy when they happen but I love them all the same!

feeling immensely grateful despite the overwhelm I feel making my first post of 2025 near the year’s end. I’m now 27 years old (and thank you, friends, for the birthday & well wishes!) and in my time being 26 I lived a whole new life it feels!

I started the year off freshly stepping away from a career I’d been developing—burnt out, anxious, and unsure what would come next or what I needed. the first bit of this new chapter was spent writing and reflecting, skiing, making trips to visit family and friends, going to music festivals; it was a lot of fun and I cherished every moment but I still felt unsure of what came next or how soon that would need to be. my surplus of free time was put to use developing my politic and organizing skills, and to sprinkle more lighthearted fun I started singing along with my talented friends & comrades—the tracks were laid for Bullet Train to Butte.🚂

spring ushered in fresh air and energy and so much growth! the blossoms and buds comforted me when doubt and fear for the future started to creep in. I started working at my neighborhood café, and morning walks and bike rides led me to a place where good coffee was brewed and new connections and friendships would be made! not long after, I joined the Tinworks team and embraced the joy and fulfillment of studying and sharing art history and the observations of creativity in our everyday lives. after a summer of sustaining three jobs where one supplied me the tools to play with a new medium—I eventually joined a ceramics class!

I’ve met some of the most wonderful people this year, and enjoyed some of the most interesting and candid experiences; I’ve learned and grown so much, and much of it is owed to a decision to start trusting myself. walking away from what seemed like stability, I had a lot of challenges. letting go and trusting the process helped build more confidence in myself even if it still wavers. I still have little clue what I’m doing, but there’s fun to be had in that! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TLDR; I joined a band for fun, I have strong opinions and convictions, I make coffee, I surround myself with art, and I love those around me ♡ thanks for reading! cheers 🥂 by @well.dunn

it’s my birthday and I’ve been taking the day very easy, and smiling at my phone all this time just looking back through the various images throughout the year I’ve forgotten to post.
it was a tough year for me in some ways. I felt very challenged at times, which I may explore in a different photo dump, but for this first one I wanted to shout out and celebrate the people that made my 25th year around the sun bearable, inspiring, and fun! I’d be remiss not to say this is an incomplete list, because there were a lot of people who came into my life or lifted me up or cheered me on or made me laugh, etc. I love my friends so FREAKING much and I really hope I got that across to them all this year but if not, here is your reminder!
I have always felt grateful for my friends but WOW this year has shown me just how powerful and beautiful community is and what it really means beyond the word itself. my friends are my comrades and our liberation is intertwined! I’ve learned so much from all of you!!!
I’m smiling at my phone as I type this and think about you all because my heart feels full and happy! ILYSM❣️ ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧˚ by @well.dunn

and if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew—
well, you would see the biggest gift would be from me and the card attached would say: “thank you for being a friend”

this weekend has filled my cup so incredibly full. what a joy it’s been to be surrounded by my loving partner, my 93-years-and-counting hero, and my dear brother and our sweet and supportive famil[ies]. I’m grateful for the smiles and laughter, the creative and playful fun, and the abundance of love around me!

my inner child is giddy, and my mind feels lighter than it has in quite a while. I feel loved and supported, and I’m just feeling so happy that this weekend has happened! by @well.dunn
