SCREAMING!✨🤩

I’ve been counting down the days, and to think I’m now saying ‘till next year’ to all of my friends and family, packing everything up and preparing for our move, that we are actually going to be living across the other side of the world🇦🇺

I’m honestly so grateful for this opportunity, grateful for a partner to share this with and grateful for all the possibilities that I am yet to experience✨

If you’d of asked me 10 years ago that I’d be living in Australia, I would have laughed at the idea….

If something is calling you, if a move, plan, job is igniting something within you….DO IT❤️‍🩹 by @wellbeingjess

As a girly with anxiety, these tools are my fave regulation tools🫶🏼

👋Energy sweeping - using your hands to sweep/ brush energy from the centre of your body and outward. This gentle touch stimulates your nerve fibres sending signals to the brain to release oxytocin (comfort and bonding hormone). Sweeping can be used alongside breath, inhaling at the top of the movements, when exhaling, the energy is brushed away.

🧠EFT - tapping is an acupressure practise that helps you manage stress and anxiety. Light finger tapping on specific meridians of the body sends signals to the brain (amygdala) the part of the brain known as the survival centre, telling it to calm down. Tapping can be done in various places that might be affected by anxiety. Ie. The head for racing thoughts, headaches. The chest for palpitations or pain. The belly for digestive issues as a result of anxiety.

🫁Breathwork - conscious controlled breathing that serves many purposes in regulating your nervous system and calming you down, or boosting your energy. Breathwork can slow your heart rate in moments where anxiety affects you physically, but also it can shift your focus from any racing thoughts, emotions and feelings to your breath as a tool to regulate.

For years I have struggled endlessly with racing thoughts and the most ANNOYING heart palpitations that it felt as if my chest were to explode, these techniques have been my best friends! Moments where I feel the anxiety creeping in, I take a moment, give myself some time and use one of these tools to regulate❤️‍🩹

Kinda chic simply being❤️‍🩹

When those low moments hit, the moments when everything is overwhelming and those hundreds of tabs are open in the brain, I remind myself that it’s kinda chic to be aware of this, to slow down, to ask for help and to surround myself with people, things and activities that make me feel whole✨

What do you do to self regulate that is kinda chic?🧘

Ohhh how burnt out I was….

I have worked tirelessly, exercised rigorously, stressed immensely and didn’t for one moment SLOW DOWN!

My mental health has fluctuated over my life and various things have certainly triggered it, in fact till this day i get my anxiety attacks and meltdowns…but reflecting back on how i was at the start of the year, these moments have slowed down, because I’ve noticed how much I HAVE slowed down.

From no periods to severe periods, migraines, stomach issues, muscle aches, bad skin and loss of interest in all hobbies, I noticed something HAD to give.

So now I take small steps to slow down, and it’s amazing when you can feel the mental and emotional peace but also you can see it in yourself✨

What needs to give in order for you to slow down?❤️‍🩹

The New Forest is my home🌿🤍 and with these fires going on I cannot express how much sadness this has brought to many people I know, many who’s home this is and many who has seen and experienced the true beauty of the forest✨

I want to say a HUGE thank you to all the Hampshire and Isle of Wight firefighters, Forestry England workers and other volunteers who have been working so hard to tackle these fires, you are incredible❤️‍🩹

Its taken a LONG time to get to the point of even admitting this🌱

I’ve never been good at just resting, life was all about work work work and thinking that was normal for me.
I always questioned whether I’m doing my best even with the amount of education I’ve done.
I always hid my true self from people in fear of what they thought of me and if I was weird.
I felt that I needed to do something BIG in life in order to be accepted.
I’ve messed up, I’ve failed, I’ve tried again.

But…

Amidst all that, I’ve learnt.

Learnt that slowing down has been way more beneficial to my mental health and my body
That I’m NOT falling behind because I don’t have a house, married, kids, a career making the average salary.
I’m ENOUGH and if people don’t like my personality that is OK
Being me and doing what I do is enough as I am happy.
I’ve learnt A LOT…work, relationships, money etc

But, I still have my days/ weeks when I might slip backwards and that’s ok….we are only human❤️‍🩹 by @wellbeingjess

I’ve seen it and I’ve experienced it, time and time again…

As a Personal Trainer, I’ve worked with people who believed exercise had to leave them exhausted, sore, or pushing through pain to be “worth it”

I’ve also been there myself.

Life changes. Injuries happen. Stress builds. Our bodies go through seasons where lifting heavy weights, high-intensity workouts, or constantly chasing PB’s!

But that’s okay.

One of the biggest things I’ve learnt over the years is that movement doesn’t have to be extreme to be powerful, and this is something I teach my clients when coaching, but also teach myself….

Movement might just be listening instead of forcing especially when the body is telling you to slow down. It’s about reconnecting with your body rather than fighting against it.

Think mobility, breathwork, stretching, or intentional movement which can improve strength, reduce tension, increase body awareness, and help you feel more grounded, but with the ability to walk down the stairs or sit on the toilet without muscle soreness brought on by physical activity!😅

If you’ve stopped exercising because your body hurts, you’ve lost confidence after an injury, or the thought of muscling up energy for your HIIT class stresses you out; maybe it’s time to try something different…maybe you can relate to this a bit more?

Movement should support your life, not punish your body.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is slow down and meet yourself where you feel most comfortable🧡 taken in The New Forest by @wellbeingjess

WOW🌿☕️🧘

Truly blessed to have facilitated the Forest Bathing session with Jo from @theyogacoffeeclub in our Grounded Gatherings event this Sunday🌻🌱

We immersed ourselves in nature, practised an incredible Kundalini yoga session with Jo amongst the trees, journaled our journey through nature and all its beauty and OF COURSE drank some coffee ☕️🌿

A plan that has been on my heart for a while, I was just keeping quiet🤍

Life happens in so many mysterious ways and now the time has come to do something adventurous, something exciting, something that I would have NEVER had the courage to do a year ago….

We are packing our bags and flying to the other side of the world for a year 🌍
