And with that, our 2026 Back-to-School Custom Backpack Giveaway comes to an end. 🎒❤️
Today, we dropped off our final batch of backpacks to @feedingwestchester marking the end of a journey that became bigger than we ever imagined.
Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsor, @caliclosetsnyc , and everyone who donated, created, volunteered, and believed in this mission, we were able to give away 300 backpacks and over 600 school supplies to kids in the community where we grew up. 🫶
To every child and teenager who starting the school year- we hope you have an amazing school year filled with learning, friendship, confidence, and unforgettable memories. ✨

My healthcare journey didn't start with certification, it started with volunteering at 15. For two years, I volunteered at a hospital, learned from healthcare professionals, and explored what a future in medicine could look like. At 17, I decided to take the next step and become a certified phlebotomist.
I'm sharing my journey because I know how difficult it can be for students to find opportunities and figure out where to start.
🌱My goal for Wellness.topia is to grow into a community that makes health education, wellness, and healthcare opportunities more accessible to young people. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone take a step before you to realize that you can take one too.

Day 2 of Phlebotomy Training at 17 🩸🩺
Did you know that a phlebotomist is a healthcare professional who draws blood for tests, transfusions, donations, and research?
One of the things I love about this career is that training programs can often be completed in less than a 3 months making it a great way to gain hands-on healthcare experience early on. In New York, pay varies by experience and location, with statewide median pay around $24 per hour based on recent wage data. 🩺
I'm excited to share what I'm learning along the way and for me its not about how much I can make, but be available and volunteer in underserved communities

17 YEARS OLD. STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. STARTING PHLEBOTOMY 💉🩸
You might be wondering… How did I start this early? And can you do it too?
I was 16 and still a high school student when I decided I didn’t want to wait until college or after graduation to start exploring healthcare. I wanted to learn a real healthcare skill, gain experience, and start figuring out what I wanted for my future.
Now I’m sharing the journey on @wellness.topia — from how I got started and how early you can begin, to what the training is like, what I’m learning, and what I wish I knew before starting.
That’s what I want Wellness.topia to be about: education, wellness, growth, and sharing real experiences that might help someone else. 💙
If you’re 16 or 17, in high school, or simply interested in healthcare, follow along. I’ll share what I learn along the way and hopefully show you that you can start exploring your future earlier than you think. 🩺

What started as one teenager's idea is helping hundreds of local children start the school year with pride. 🎒

Last week, 12 volunteers gathered to paint sample backpacks for children in need, but that was just the beginning.

Azim, founder of @wellness.topia and an intern at California Closets, wanted to recreate something special from his own childhood: the joy of customizing a backpack and making it uniquely yours. When he shared his idea with the owners of California Closets, they loved it so much that they purchased 200 backpacks—along with all the supplies needed to decorate them.

Yesterday and today, children at Ossining Children's Center will personalize the first 100 backpacks alongside volunteers, giving them the chance to head back to school with something they created themselves.

The project doesn't end there. Another 100 backpacks will be decorated at California Closets' new Rockland County showroom (101 Main St., New City) on August 14.

Today, our team traded designing custom closets for designing backpacks.
We came together to help customize 100 backpacks for the incredible kids at the Ossining Children's Center. Every backpack became a little work of art, and every one carried its own unique story.
What an unforgettable experience. You should have seen the excitement on their faces and heard the joy in their laughter. Moments like these remind us that sometimes the smallest acts create the biggest memories.
We're leaving today with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and a lot more little friends than we had this morning. ❤️🎒
A special thank you to the amazing team at the Ossining Children's Center. What a wonderful group of people! Thank you for the opportunity to get to know you better and for allowing us to bring a little extra joy to your children. It was truly an honor to spend the day with you all.
