Hey Everyone 😌 my name is Chelsea and I’m excited to be sharing a lot about nutrition and mental health. I’m currently studying for my masters in Integrative and Functional Nutrition and pursuing my certification as a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) (: so right now I’m planning to share a lot about what I’ve been learning. I’ve struggled with chronic iron deficiency anemia, diagnosed with PCOS and currently going on 2 years of doctors evaluating me for autoimmune diseases. I’ve been struggling with my health, but I have noticed that addressing food sensitivities, eating more Whole Foods and fruits and staying hydrated along with consistent meditation and movement have helped me mitigate a lot of the symptoms I have, but consistency is key and I’m still working on learning more and being as consistent as I can be. I’m excited to connect with you all! 🙏🏽🥰 #autoimmunedisease #pcos #irondeficiencyanemia #nutrition #holisticwellness #holistichealth #integrativehealth#nutritionist in training by @wellnesswithchels_

A part of Being Well is knowing when you’re not well. I’ve been anemic for yearrrsss and I have PMOS (otherwise known as PCOS), weekly migraines and a possible autoimmune condition that is super overwhelming and complex trying to figure out. this is why I chose the work I want to do, but as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner, I’m in the trenches to, trying to heal seeing what works and what doesn’t and having huge compassion for my peeps struggling. I see you… I really do. Although my main goal starting out this page is to share about wellness, Chronic illness has been such a huge part of my life and I want to share my journey and how I keep moving through it all. #chronicillness #pmos #anemia #functionalnutrition #migraine by @wellnesswithchels_

Showing up for yourself is so essential, I want to remind you that it is not selfish, filling your cup allows you to not only show up in life but it allows us to improve the way we show up and bring the best version of ourselves wherever we are needed ✨🦋🙏🏽 I'm continuing to work on this and I hope we all find the space we need to take care of ourselves. #wellness #selfcare by @wellnesswithchels_

Sometimes it’s the little things to help you when you’re not feeling well. As someone who struggles from chronic migraine the lymph tonic from @sprouts 🌱 and @tradmedicinals combination brings release out of that pain. In these times of tension and pain whether that be physical, mental spiritual, political or a combination of all of these #nutritionist #wellnessjourney #wellnessgirl #integrativenutrition may you find ease in this tough season ❤️‍🩹 by @wellnesswithchels_

These are all things that I’ve incorporated into my life that do work! I need to be more consistent but the relief is there. I always use red light before bed, and it helps me relax and when I got new glasses I made them blue light filtering and now have noticed that in not having as many migraines as I used to. There are ways to heal, it takes time but these things do work 🙏🏽 #wellnessthatworks #wellnesspractitioner #redlighttherapybenefits #bluelightglasses #holisticliving by @wellnesswithchels_

I know there is irony in that statement haha 🤣🤪but we have all been there, we just aren’t hungry so we got without eating until we are. This is not good because it throws our bodies off and puts us in more stress and imbalances us hormonally. Lately I’ve been in a bit of a funk and realize that not eating has made things worse, so instead of skipping meals I’m focusing on snacks. Having snacks instead of not eating anything at all is better because you are still nourishing yourself and being mindful of not eating to much if you’re not feeling it. I love fruit and lately have been enjoying chomps! They are delicious my favorite has been the pepperoni seasoned turkey stick. also don’t forget hydrating! I add Celtic sea salt to my water for added minerals @chomps @celticseasalt future #nutritionist #wellness #wellnessjourney #nourishment by @wellnesswithchels_

Salt can help the body to maintain hydration levels in the body to make sure you are getting enough water.

Helps support the immune system because sea salt has many minerals that supports and strengthens the immune system.

Can help mitigate stress and regulate serotonin and melatonin which are hormones that help us sleep and relax.

Also supports detoxification, by absorbing toxins from our body.

Contains necessary electrolytes by adding in 1 tsp into water which can help prevent cramps after working out and dehydration.

Magnesium found in sea salt can relax our muscles reduce stress and improve our sleep. #celticseasaltbenefits #seasaltwater #hydrate #water #stayhydrated future #nutritionist by @wellnesswithchels_

As I’ve been dealing with PCOS and a suspected autoimmune condition my body has been in so much pain and discomfort with a ray of so many weird symptoms. I get scared sometimes not knowing why what’s happening to me is happening… our healthcare system is failing us, so it is extra important that we care for our bodies and focus on healthy nourishment, movement, mindfulness and our mental emotional and spiritual wellbeing. One thing that I do and I should do more often is move my body because when I do, I feel healing happening. Moving this stagnation through my body is when I feel myself healing, even when you don’t feel like it I encourage you to just move your body in any way that feels good to you, give yourself grace, be kind to yourself, and give your body the movement it deserve to heal and be the best for you. #movement #yoga #wellness #wellnessjourney #movementismedicine by @wellnesswithchels_

Combining My Adrenal RX with my raspberry leaf tea has helped me find a sense of ease during this cycle. I usually have severe anxiety, insomnia, depression, cramps and bloating before my periods. I have had PCOS for 4 years now and I never knew what type. Turns out there is adrenal PCOS cause by toxic stress that causes my adrenal glands to produce to many androgens. This is not for medical advice I’m just a student studying nutrition and learning more about my body and sharing what works for me. Just know that all protocols can be different for everyone ☺️ this has helped me with all my symptoms and I’m feeling less drained for sure.
Here are two articles to share more about herbs and raspberry leaf tea & PCOS

Was feeling extra exhausted today… exhausted 😴 today usually I can move through my day not as energetic as I used to be but I can get things done, whether that’s around the house, going somewhere or getting assignments done ahead of time for my masters program. Today I cannot focus, I cannot keep my eyes open, everything is nauseating, my body hurts and I’ve just been able to lay down. I’ve felt guilty for not moving, not being productive , not doing the things that are typical of a 28 year old such as driving , having a job, progressing in my career. I know I’m doing things but I constantly feel like it is not enough because I can barely get through the day. I see other people , and that is where I fall, I focus on what they’re doing and how I am not doing those things but that’s the issue I am strong 💪🏽 I am fighting my body and trying to support myself in healing ❤️‍🩹 everyone is going through something so let’s just be empathetic. Daily my body bleeds from somewhere from some rash that leaves a scar or I have a migraine, or a bad stomach ache or my legs and joints are throbbing -.- I am strong, I don’t know why these things are happening but I definitely am doing enough and I’m learning more and more each day of how to heal. I hope I get answers soon and I am sending positive vibes 🕊️☀️to anyone going through it #healingjourney #pcos #autoimmunedisease #staystrong #holsitichealing future #nutritionist by @wellnesswithchels_
