I needed a few days to fully process the remarkable night put together by @saaforchange. They curated a powerhouse of healers in the form of artists, mental health advocates, influencers, activists and the list goes on. I felt honored to share a room with folks making such a positive impact on our ever growing community. We shared ideas, we laughed, we danced, and let each other in.

@mitulidesai , @payalforstyle , @mamajotes thank you for your openness on stage and off. Your stories were truly inspiring.

@rianjalimusic your voice has healing powers.

Congratulations also to @pothikc and @brownmantherapy !

The @saaforchange 2026 Summit felt like one giant hug. The stunning venue at the @pyramidclubphl filled with beautiful people from all walks of life united by the power of community and hope. The day began with a grounding sound bath and continued with workshops that ranged from deep and vulnerable to creative and playful. We spoke about social justice, generational trauma, family engagement, and forging new norms in mental health spaces. There were tears, laughter, dance, and ideas unraveling as the day went on. I even got to make a short film! By the end of the summit, we all felt a collective relief in knowing that there is a community that welcomes us as we are, and supports who we are becoming 🤎

I know many of us are carrying heavy hearts this Eid 💔 This is a reminder that you can honor your grief while also giving yourself permission to find joy in celebrating. I feel especially grateful this year for all that I have (and don't have). The climate of this world has helped turn some of my anger into focus, clarity and prioritization, and I wish the same for you all!

Eid Mubarak to you all, with a heavy but full heart ☪️

📅 Reflecting on a transformative workshop we hosted on April 25th! As part of the Engage 4 Change series, we dove deep into the experiences of being a child of immigrants. Today, we want to share a meaningful clip from one of the reflective exercises.

🤔 “If guilt and shame weren’t recurring barriers, how would your life be different today?”

🎥 Shame and guilt often weigh heavily on South Asian families. The pressure to maintain a good reputation in the community, coupled with the hierarchical family structure and cultural values, can make us feel guilty or ashamed when we don’t meet expectations. Watch this snippet as participants from the workshop openly share their thoughts. These diverse perspectives truly resonate within our South Asian American community, reminding us that we’re not alone in navigating the complexities of our identities.

✨ We’re immensely grateful to everyone who joined us for this workshop. Be sure to check out our previous post on boundary mantras, which offers guidance on moving beyond guilt and shame into a place of empowerment. It’s not an easy journey, but together we can support each other, break down barriers, and create positive change.

💬 Let us know in the comments below, how would YOUR life look different if you grew up with less guilt and shame?

Stay tuned for more exciting workshops and events coming your way!

✨Yesterday @saaforchange and @wellnesswithintherapy kicked off our Engage 4 Change Series of educational workshops! The workshop was such an amazing healing space for all of us children of immigrants.

✨One exercise we did was coming up with a Boundary Mantra to say to ourselves when facing resistance from our families. Because South Asian culture values family and community over self, oftentimes boundaries are seen as selfish. That is not true, as we all need space to be happy, healthy and ourselves.

✨Additionally, even if we don’t face external resistance in setting boundaries, the ingrained cultural value of family over self may give rise to internal resistance and self doubt (the feeling of guilt and shame when implementing a boundary e.g., “If I move out of my parent’s home I’m betraying the family and my parents who worked so hard for a good life for me.”).

✨That’s where a Boundary Mantra comes in. This is a phrase we can tell ourselves to help us when we are facing resistance (whether external or internal). Check out the Boundary Mantras of our workshop participants! We love absolutely each and every one of these.

✨If you weren’t at the workshop, tell us in the comments, what’s YOUR Boundary Mantra?
