Our church @highdesertchurch had a car show in honor of Fathers Day today and one of the members brought out his '62 Chevy II. Small block 400 with a Procharger, 5-speed, and a 4-link'd 9 inch. He said laid down right at 1000 rear wheel horsepower at 15lbs of boost. The build quality was first class and the owner did all the fab work himself, including the suspension, exhaust, and cage. It has got to be a blast to drive! by @welsh5838

For years, I've always searched for the "perfect" maroon in the hopes of painting one of my cars that color. Well, today I found it. The problem is, the owner would not even tell me one clue as to the color mix he used and pictures do not convey whatsoever to how this color actually looks in person. It's spectacular. And the rest of the car is spectacular, too! by @welsh5838

Been spending the last few weeks scraping and cleaning the bottom of a top-secret project. I'll show the whole thing in a couple of weeks when I get the rear suspension installed and get it back on it's wheels. It's a legit 87k mile Southern California car. I've done quite a few West coast cars, but I've never seen one this solid. There's not even a speck of surface rust under this thing. Any guesses on the make and model? by @welsh5838

Hey @budcrayne your post a few days ago on your bitchin' Nova got me motivated to send you some shots of a Nova rendering you did for me in 1992. Back then, my spindle mount idea was pretty whacky but about 10 years later they showed up to the public as a proper(?) bolt-on deal. I kinda snicker now at the goofy 3rd brake light idea and shaving the cool horizontal body line scallop off of the deck lid (which I would never do today), but hey, it was the 1990s. The car got sold before the project started because we were young newlyweds trying to buy our first house (for an astronomical 112k!) and I needed the down-payment dough. Fast forward 30+ years and I'm now building another '67 Nova. I promise NO 3rd brake light on this one, but I might grow a mullet again and pull out the Gargoyle sunglasses as a tribute to an era where the hot rod world seemed to have a real soul and genuine excitement, unlike today where "innovation" comes from ordering parts out of a catalog and everyone seems to be building the same car as everyone else by using the exact same recipe book. by @welsh5838

Hey Dustin, here's a pic of the front bumper. Typical budget deal, drill out the shocks, slide the bumper back and weld 'em closed. I also snuck in a subtle '68 Impala SS emblem and painted the upper and lower grills black to give it a pseudo SS vibe. by @welsh5838

Forgot to post this up. Tightened up the bumper on the '73 by pushing the it back 2.25". Also trimmed the filler panels between the bumper and the body. This will work for now.... by @welsh5838

Front shot. I'm really excited to have the ultra-talented Brian Stupski wield his design wizardry on the front bumper. We're gonna tighten things up, so to speak. I can't wait to show him some other subtle tricks I've got planned.... by @welsh5838

I need to get back on Instagram again. My Facebook feed is under heavy fire from ads about Bitcoin, pressure washers, and SuperBeets. And just when all the political BS was starting to taper off. Anyway, here's my current project, '73 Monte Carlo. by @welsh5838
