#WeMakeCities #IDarte #Mugak #VitoriaGasteiz #ModeloDeCiudad #Sostenibilidad #ParqueTemático #InteligenciaColectiva #IAcívica #Urbanismo #EspacioPúblico #VitoriaGreenPark #Utopia #Distopia #Cuidados @mugakbienal @lugadero @wemakecities @idarte_euskadi by @wemakecities

We make Cities - Donostia This workshop proposes a collective process for imagining futures through the critical and creative use of generative artificial intelligence tools. Building on previous experiences from the We Make Cities project, the workshop combines urban reflection, speculative artistic foresight, and AI-assisted visualization to generate scenarios that respond to both local and global challenges. Beginning with an exploration of historical utopias, case studies, and situated conversations, the workshop activates participatory dynamics involving residents, students, architects, and social agents. It becomes a thinking machine for cities—collectively weaving together emotions, knowledge, data, and technologies. The resulting scenes—composed of images, narratives, and visualizations generated throughout the process—will be featured in the central exhibition of the Biennial. This exercise is not solely aimed at producing visual artifacts, but rather at opening shared spaces of thought, radical questions, and unexpected connections between architecture, communities, and possible futures. 15-10-2025 16:00 - 19:30 Instituto de Arquitectura de Euskadi · Euskadiko Arkitektura Institutua @mugakbienal @lugadero by @wemakecities

Fracture Atlas Why keep imagining futures while we dismantle them in real time? In a world where cities collapse not only with time, but by our own hand, imagining the future becomes a profoundly contradictory act. Explosions are no longer exceptional events — they are structural features of the present. Gaza, like so many wounded cities, does not need utopias: it needs memory, it needs justice, it needs to be heard, even when there are no voices left. From the paradox of building images of what might come while witnessing the unravelling of what is already here, we might understand that there is no future possible without confronting the present we are destroying. We place ourselves on that edge. We do not imagine as a form of escape, but from within the fracture. We do not design to flee, but to resist. The cities that may come —if they come— cannot be conceived without the rubble of those that burn today. To imagine, in this context, is not to design what will be. It is to take responsibility for what can no longer continue. by @wemakecities
