Congratulations to John "Yanni" Venables, who recently reached an amazing milestone of 15 years at Wembley Golf Course! 🎉

As part of our Greenkeeping team, Yanni manages all aspects of irrigation across the course, a demanding and hands-on role that is essential to keeping our grounds in top condition.

Thank you, Yanni, for 15 years of hard work. The team wouldn't be the same without you!

Here's to many more 👏

Yesterday saw 46 golfers attempting a hole-in-one for a chance to win a whopping $500k! 🌞

Whilst no-one managed to hole out, Noah Keren walked away with $2.5k as the winner of the amateurs NTP and star Hannah Green also walked away with $2.5k as the winner of the professionals NTP!

Most importantly, we managed to raise a significant amount of funds for @telethon7, funding vital research into youth mental health at the @perroninstitute 💙

It was a beautiful day enjoyed by all who came to watch and participate!

Wembley Golf Course and the @townofcambridge are immensely proud to contribute to such an important cause.

So… we’ve got a very exciting lineup for Sunday’s @perroninstitute Hole in One Shootout!

Starting with Ron, who’s had a few chances to hole this shot over the years. Will 2026 be his year?!

Next up, we’ve got golden ball recipient, Neville Walker. Neville actually volunteers for @blind_golf_australia as a caddy and has done for the past 30 years!

Now for the fabulous @georgiecleaver_ from the @eaglesaflw team! A dual-sport athlete, can she add golf to that list?!

Another golden ball recipient, Makenzie! Fun fact: she speaks Indonesian 🤗

You may have heard of the great @d_win23 from @perthwildcats! Dylan is actually an avid golfer when he’s not tearing it up on the basketball court, so keep an eye out for his shot on Sunday! 🏀⛳️

Next up, we’ve got the dynamic duo of tennis gold medalist @johnwpeers and PGA professional @daniellesgolf! Will either of these two stars show us how’s it done on 18 Tuart? 🤭

Our next golden ball recipient, Hamish, is an ex state level mountain biker who took up golf in 2024 🚲

We’re so pleased to have @golfandjoel join us on Sunday. Will everyone be saying “shot mate” after he’s had his turn? 🤔

Another @eaglesaflw star, @kelliegibson2 will be taking her shot at $500k. Can the former Rugby Sevens gold medalist sink it?!

To round out our list of just some of the names joining us, @abbieteasdaleee is a rising star in the golf world, in her first year on tour! ⭐️

See you all on Sunday arvo for a 1:45pm start! taken in Wembley Golf Course by @wembleygolfcourse

How good was the mini golf yesterday?! 💙⛳

We were thrilled to host a couple of the amazing Little Telethon Stars, joined by AFLW Eagles player Georgie Cleaver and the one & only Fat Cat for a fantastic day out.

Thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support. All proceeds go to @telethon7 for @PerronInstitute research into youth mental health.

See you again on Thursday for another day of fundraising fun. And don't forget to join us on Sunday 11 October to see if someone can sink the $500,000 Hole-in-One Challenge! 💰

One of our star Golf Shop Assistants, Michael Pentland, recently celebrated 5 years with WGC! ⭐👏

So, we thought it was about time to properly introduce him.

Now in his second year as a PGA Associate, Michael's path into the golf industry wasn't a traditional one. After studying and working in property valuation, he made the decision to follow his passion for golf, a passion that began while growing up and playing at Cottesloe Golf Club.

Away from the Golf Shop, Michael has recently started his coaching journey and is loving the opportunity to share his love for the game with golfers of all ages and abilities.

October is an exciting month for him, with trips to South Australia and Victoria to compete in both the SA PGA Associate Championships and the PGA Associate National Championship.

He's a legend, and we're lucky to have him part of our team. Here's to another 5 years, Michael!

Recently, we welcomed students from Churchlands Senior High School for a tour of our facility, giving them a glimpse into the many different career opportunities within the golf industry ⛳

Students toured the Golf Shop, explored the driving range operations, visited the cart shed, and met our greenkeeping team to learn about the important roles that help keep the course running every day.

We had a great time sharing our passion for the industry and showcasing the many exciting career pathways the golf industry has to offer.

Thank you to Churchlands SHS for visiting!
