While observing these guys working, under a freezing cold, the kind that burns your face and stiffens your hands, smoking cigarettes just to stay warm (not that I support the habit, but I understand it in this situation), carrying heavy loads on their shoulders, hammering, working fast and non stop, I thought: this is a non prestigious job that keeps our society running and growing.

Here, at least, I know they are well paid. That is not the case in Brazil.

But soon after, I questioned myself: where are all the women asking for the same rights when it comes to this kind of work?

I live in a community that is still under construction, and I have never seen a single woman lifting and carrying weight, being outside in such poor conditions, doing this essential and necessary work. Maybe that is because we, as women, are not made for these jobs, and because of that, equality will never look the same.

We have extremely important work to do, especially when we have kids, work that only a woman can do. But claiming for equality in everything just messes up the game and ends up confusing the younger generation.

This small reflection this morning stayed with me.

This past weekend we had the privilege of presenting Juliah to our church and committing to God to raise her in His ways. She is a blessing to our family. 🔸Muita gente só aprende depois da perda.
Mas Deus não nos chamou para viver apenas nesse ciclo de retiradas e expulsões.

Ele fala, orienta e nos dá sinais antes.
O problema é que muitas vezes adiamos a obediência, pedimos 200 confirmações ou chamamos nossa hesitação de prudência.
E quando não ouvimos, Ele precisa agir de forma mais dura, não para nos punir, mas para nos proteger das consequências de nossas escolhas.

Assim como Israel no deserto, instruídos, advertidos, mas repetindo os mesmos erros até que Deus tivesse de intervir.

I realized I miss mtbiking more than I thought. And I also noticed something else: a big part of what we learn in sports, the techniques, the mindset, has less to do with performance and more to do with a logical kind of confidence. The ability to access and manage fear, and to activate the skills that are already there. Even if it’s been a long time, just knowing that you know how to do it shifts your relationship with fear. It gives you perspective. Of course, being realistic helps too. Lack of training shows. But that’s also part of it: going easy, enjoying it, not needing to push the limits. 🔸Tem coisas que ocupam nossas mãos, nosso tempo e até parecem certas…
Mas lá no fundo, só nos afastam daquilo que realmente fomos chamadas para viver.

Nem toda conquista é sinal de direção.

Às vezes, construímos baseados em medo, comparação, ou pura tentativa de provar algo a alguém, até a nós mesmas.

8 de Maio, o dia em que realizei o maior sonho da minha vida - me tornei mãe. Mãe de um menino. Um menino de olhos azuis e cabelos escuros, alegre, aventureiro e inteligente - exatamente o que eu sonhei desde pequena, sem por e nem tirar. Deus em sua graça e misericórdia, me deu o privilégio de ser mãe do Joseph. Hoje, 3 anos desde que a chegada dele mudou esse mundo para melhor, me mudou para melhor, mudou a nossa família para melhor. O Joseph nos inspira a extrair o nosso melhor, até mesmo onde achávamos que não conseguiríamos, ele sem nem imaginar, nos inspira a ir mais além, a sempre querer ser o melhor. O Joseph é amor, inspiração, alegria, sorrisos incontáveis, aventuras, criatividade, coragem, força, inteligência, determinação, generosidade e um ser cheio de Jesus.
