This work is inspired by the visual languages that guided, protected, and connected Black people across time and space. I’m drawing from Underground Railroad quilts, Adinkra symbols, and the everyday hair care tools that carry cultural memory. Many of these motifs traveled from West Africa to the American South, appearing in architecture, textiles, and quiet codes of communication. I’m in awe of how my ancestors used pattern, color, and craft to speak without words, and through this painting I hope to continue that tradition—creating images that hold stories, directions, and identity for those who know how to read them. My work explores Black beauty—specifically hair care—as a central part of identity, culture, and self-expression. I honor both the struggle and the joy found in this journey through my paintings. Y’all love tryna judge folks based on their hair texture, length, color, etc. But in reality, ‘good hair’ ain’t nothing but self love. 🌻💐💝

Growing this baby is the real workout, but 1 thing I wanted to make sure I did throughout this pregnancy is show up for me. Before I got pregnant I had finally reached my goals exercise wise & as much as I wanted to be sad about losing all that progress, I just decided to keep going. Ppl told me pregnancy would sit me down but I chose to listen to my body instead. Every pregnancy looks different & I’m learning to trust my body & my limits. Truly grateful for the ability to still move. Women are sooo powerful! 😛💪🏽👑 #vibram @vibramfivefingers by @wendeezz

My first trimester took me outttt but as soon as I hit my second, I haven’t stopped being active! These 6 simple exercises have helped alleviate hip/back pain tremendously. It’s my everyday warm up before I get into the real workout lol. Takes less than 10 mins. Don’t forget to breathe 🦋
